I heard the chorus in teasers and honestly didn’t like it at first. But, boy, I was completely blown away by this! My expectations were definitely exceeded after watching the teasers! So creative, so original, so captivating, just so good! The piano sheet music (maze) has the title “sheesh” and of course “BM” central in the maze. The two cochlea (spiral ear canals) on the walls behind rapping Ahyeon and Ruka are cool, and also these two “rev” the two dirt bikes on the side walls during Asa’s amazing rap! Ahyeon saying she’s not just one of the announced 5 members (YG’s 1st announced members before YG’s flip), not just one of the current 7 members, but that she is 10 out of 10 (score/flex)! “Boom Boom Pow”…Black Eyed Peas perchance? “Rum pum pum pum” à la f(x) but making your ears feel good instead of, or in addition to, piercing your heart or hurting your head? They ARE on a “roll” (as they sing in the outro)…a Rolls-Royce Ghost car that is, worth over $350,000! Asa mentions riding in on a Ghost in her rap, and a Rolls would definitely be a big flex….they all slayed! OT7👍 Great reaction and discussion but no double Dutch for me😂! 🔥👍🔥👍 ❤❤❤ ❤ ❤❤❤

That is the issue. These young ladies deserve to have their own vibe. As long as YG continues to do this then people will compare the two groups. Baby Monster is talented very talented and YG is doing the same thing he has always been doing from 2NE1 to Black Pink. As far as son writing Teddy did the writing for Black Pink if I'm not mistaken.

Teddy is PD for BP and he has NOTHING to do with BM. People often think this music style is Teddy’s trademark but actually it’s YG trademark. Every PDs in that YG dungeon can do it and have done it before BP. You gotta understand that it’s a tradition in YGE for continue their flavors like that as their signature is hip hop-EDM+ switch up ending pattern and nothing wrong with continuing their core. If you listen to the song Like That, the cords and styles screamed Charlie Puth so much coz it’s his signature. People might even think BM copied Puth’s style of music if they don’t know in advance that the song made by Puth for the girls. And no one is disappointed in Puth for having his signature style, right? Jennie once said she sometime miss BP debuting era coz songs are more cute/lively and not very very girl-crush like BP recent songs. So BP also has their own development in music and style from debut era to the now era. BM will find theirs too. Other YG groups as well, if you notice, Bigbang did very American hip hop/RnB on their debut until later started to have EDM in their songs and style has changed too. Or if you look at Treasure, their first concept was boy crush with heavy EDM. Later their music added more and more retro vibe reflecting members music interest. BM will grow and find their own style too.

Nah, the Sheesh chorus is a great choice for multiple reasons: First, it serves as a palette cleanser and sort of a breather because there is SO MUCH going on in the verses, the pre-choruses, the post chorus, the bridge, the breakdown and the chanting outro. The song woulda been hella cluttered with anymore added into the chrous. It is great music writing. Secondly, it's an earworm, love it or hate, you will remember the chorus and IT WILL get stuck in your head. Thirdly, it gives a point form them to be able to focus on choreo and not have to worry about vocals so much for few bars. That will be huge for live performances.

This is the perfect formula for such a young group with a strong rapline. And let's face it, KPop loves formulas...it's sort of the point of the genre (and there's nothing wrong with that). The nonsense chorus, the crowd-participation style ending chant, and choosing Chiquita as the center is all smart strategizing. A perfect filling of BlackPink's space (it's not like BP was cranking out songs anyway). Again, I'm not saying any of this is bad. KPop as a genre, despite the sensory overload, is risk-averse, so drastic changes are rare...it's a slow-burn. This is right in line with the YG business plan...even the agitating of the haters.

honestly, I'm not a big fans of YG-YG groups in general, but after watching the 'Last Evaluation' last year I was 100% decided to check their debut. These girls are SUPER SUPER talented! The two main rappers, Asa and Ruka, are both Japanese and are INSANE both rapping in English and Korean so well. Rami and Pharita are incredible, stable vocalists with beautiful tone and Rora, Ahyeon and Chiquita are bursting with innate talent, are almost all-rounders (specially Ahyeon) with lot of on-stage charisma. Batter-up was a bit disappointing, but I enjoy this song despite the YG-ness of it because it managed to showcase their vocal and rapping talent. I just pray and hope they lead them well with more quality releases!

Rose isn't a good singer, she's like IU, average but fantastic performer, she makes you feel something. Lisa is a great dancer, but just like Jennie she can't sing better than below-average, and I'm sorry, but they're not real rappers, because they don't write their own parts. And there's Jisoo with probably the most potential as a vocalist, but she can't do anything. It's all on YG, but still a fact.

Rosé's voice is unique and beautiful, you have to be deaf to call it an ordinary voice. Lisa is one of the best dancers of today. Didn't say Rose's voice isn't unique, but she sounds like most pop or country singers. I love her too, but I'm not biased. Also, I said she's an average vocalist, that's all. I'm pretty sure she will do vocal training because she's the only one who looks like who want to be a real singer. I will change my mind if I see them doing different things. I literally said Lisa is a great dancer. She's probably in the TOP5 with SNSD's Hyo, Wheein, SinB and Momo. I'm sorry, but BP is nowhere near the level of other groups in the TOP20 if we look at vocals, dance, rapping and stage presence. They're one of the worst balanced team. Again, thanks to YG. Don't mix biggest with best. The best, most versatile and most balanced girl group in Kpop is easily Mamamoo. And there are still groups like, Wonder Girls, SNSD, Twice, EXID, Apink, Sistar, Gfriend, Oh My Girl and many others. Also, Gfriend is probably the best gg when it comes to dance.
