This is the first time I've ever heard anything by them and I was quite impressed with the music , voices and the video. I will have to listen to them more!

When a word or sentence contains stuff in brackets, it’s optional whether you pronounce it or not. So both ways of saying it are correct. After hearing YUQI refer to herself as just Idle in the Tomboy MV, I’ve chosen to say Idle.

It can be said either way, but the reason the (G) was removed in Tomboy is because the theme of Tomboy is "It's neither man nor woman", so they removed any signs of gender for the Tomboy promotions only. Right afterwards, they went back to using the (G), and since then, the members have been saying (G)I-DLE more than they ever have, even in their videos. But the best way is to pronounce it whichever way you feel comfortable saying it.

me too but it was periodically. however, when Soyeon said that she's wanted their name to be I-dle, but Cube was against it so she had to add the G, which is how we got (G)I-dle is when I started called them I-dle 😅😂😂

Their team used to have another person who was attacked by public opinion because of something. They had to leave the team, I think this is a message to protect their teammates.

The G was forced upon them. Soyeon's original name for the group was just Idle (A play on the word Idol and the fact that while waiting for Cube to come up with something for them they were left idle until they decided to take things into their own hands).

Gidle ain’t for kids, they are mature with their music hidden in the K-pop sound….if you search around, only male groups do what they do in their music…I believe the bad bi$#s portrayal is a front for them to get people to listen and then start thinking…great artists…I never thought I’d like any group more than Blackpink, but I was wrong…

The G is not silent. There are two types of Neverland - those who say "Jee Idol" and those who say just "Idol". Those who say "Jee Idol" are just fine with whichever way you are comfortable with saying it, and those who pronounce it as "Idol", who get really angry if you pronounce it with the G. Say it whichever way you are comfortable saying it. The members call themselves "Jee Idol" everywhere outside of Korea. You'll see them call themselves "jee Idol" in interviews, on tour, in videos and everywhere else. And if the girls call themselves "Jee Idol", it's fine for us to call them "Jee Idol" also.

グループ名の（G）I-DLEですが、呼び方は「アイドゥル」で「Idol（アイドル）」とは呼ばないし意味も全く関係がないです。最初は事務所側が（G）を入れたのはガールズグループだから（韓国ではヨジャと呼ぶ）って事で（G）を付ける形でデビュー（１８年）しましたが、本人達は仕方なくって形でしたが『I NEVER DIE』（２２年）のカムバの時に事務所内に「I-DLE専用独立部署」が出来、デビュー時からリーダー＆プロデューサーであるソヨン（韓国でトップクラスのラッパー）が統括責任者となりその時に「自分達はアーティスト・グループだから、もう（G）はいらない」って事でその時からMVの映像の中でも（G）は消すようになりましたね。活動スタイルは通称KPOPアイドルとして活動していますが、ソヨンが曲作りなど大半の事をしてますがメンバーも作詞作曲をしてレコーディングも各自でするガールズグループの中では唯一のセルフプロデュース・グループです。韓国は今でも保守的で古い体質の考え方をした中年や老人が多い状況なので、曲の内容（歌詞やMVなど）で度々騒がれる時がありますが、PDであるソヨンが「周りが何を言っても関係ない、自分達がやりたい音楽をやっていく」と強い意志がある所が若い世代（特に女性）に支持されトップクラスのグループとして凄い人気がありますね。 KPOPガールズグループとしては他のグループと比較することが出来ない特殊なグループとなります。

現在成員除了舒華，其他四人都會寫歌喔~ 因為是他們自己做曲子，所以對比其他團體，他們更能唱出自己想要的東西。感覺有點像是樂團跟偶像團體的綜合

They lost a member when her was false accused of bullying in school and the company didn't protect her and left the group. And it's said that this video is one of those they eposed this injustice.

When they introduce themselves in English they also pronounce G so you dont need to worry about that

You can say G-idle, no problem because they didn't pick the name and the members will even admit "they have no idea what the name means".

Whole damn movie in an MV. I take it the one taking off the bandages at the end was the 1 hurt-1 dead in the headlines. Yeah don't mess with a badass sisterhood....we will come for you. What do you mean the couch is violent? No-out of control I will admit to though, but mostly in the adult channels.

G is silent during their tomboy era coz G is stand for Girl or Yeoja(Girl) but for tomboy they silent it on purpose. You can just say the word G no worries ❤
