This performance has quite the backstory, but tl:dr is that they were snubbed at that show, but were still asked to perform as one of the acts to introduce the start of Kingdom. They were given a small amount of time to prepare and rehearse and were generally treated badly. They choose to perform a B-Side released over a year previous (Victory Song) and absolutely ate the stage up. I love all the Kingdom performances by Stray Kids, but MAMA Victory Song hits hard because you can tell that they were ANGRY.

If you haven't reacted to the performance mv for this song, you definitely need to. Protect Felix's voice? You should see how he starts this song in the mv. When people want to know how low he can go, I always recommend Victory Song performance mv (not this Mama version) because it's unreal how he starts the song.

This is why if a k-pop group are going to perform at any international awards show **cough cough** VMA's **cough cough** they need to get someone who knows how to have it filmed. great example is Hyunjin's solo. behind him as he was swinging the swords the graphics behind him matched each swing. If you look back at the VMA's performance the camera work was so wrong. The boys performed the hell out of the song but disappointed with how it was filmed. Who ever was in charge of camera work/back lighting they screwed it up. From missing the graphic to go with Lee Knows kick, camera on wrong member during Hans rap and back lighting in the final dance break bluring/blinding out I.N's big move. could talk more on this butbut take it as a heads up when you get to watching that performance. Victory Song is a statement song. When they (3RACHA) were pitching in for the album (Clè 1 I think?), they talked about how this song embodies the feeling of a champion, a war-chant about how they've won the battle without even fighting it yet. So, when 2020 MAMA came up and they had NO NOMINATIONS even when God's Menu had EVERYONE on a chockehold and MAMA asked them to perform, ofc they were mad. And they picked this song as a statement of "it doesn't matter. We know we've already won so..." Fun fact: after their performance, Chan had a Channie's Room live that had more viewers than MAMA and Han released I Got It, which is a song about "I got everything that makes me great, you're nothing compared to that" My Stray Kids are nice but if you mess with them they're gonna eat you up in their performance ♡

This is one my all time favorite performances. You could feel the emotion behind it, and they were wound.

So MNet and the MAMA's asked them to perform with very little preparation time, only a week or something ridiculous I believe, even though they didn't even nominate them for any awards, cos they wanted them to promote the Kingdom show. So as a 'fuck you' they chose to sing Victory song which is a B Side instead of a title track like God's Menu which was a big hit for them. You can tell how pissed they were with the attitude of this performance, especially Changbins "Don't You Know Who We Are?!" part. Anyway , they slayed! Best performance of the night, hands down!!

victory song is from 2019 i believe so not even a song from 2020. 😂 and 2020 was their biggest year yet with god’s menu and they got 0 nominations so fuck mnet/ mama but the kids still ate. (also i luv channie’s prepare for glory, gives me chills. i prefer this version to the og version)

Oh geez I didn't know the complete back story.... and 1 week... wtf. I haven't gotten the chance to watch all of kingdom but I know it was rough. Good for them sticking to what they believe in. I did hear how they were basically ignored though. A lot of people didn't even bother watching that year I heard because of the disrespect.

My comment disappeared. But definitely check out VENOM & MANIAC MAMA, EPIC PERFORMANCE. There are clips floating around though showing the behind scenes. I.N. collapsed at the end, Chan caught him, Hyunjin was struggling. Crazy how hard they push themselves for us.
