The elevator is always in Stray Kids videos, it started with Hellavator, and then throught there journey the elevator symbolises going up in their career and moving between multiverses.

During the "I AM" and "Clé" series, the elevator was always there so maybe it's a way to visualize how they progressed/going through different stages during their journey. And as SKZ always say themselves, they're constantly working on themselves to get better and not to be stagnant, so them still using the elevator from time to time could symbolize that they still evolve and will be in the future. Skz also loves to try out new things and aren't afraid to be experimental, so like an elevator is bringing you to different levels, Skz are also still exploring = going to new levels. Maybe I just did go down a rabbit hole but that came to my mind 😅🤔

Elevators go all the way back to their predebut song Hellevator and have appeared consistently over the years since then. It’s a metaphor for escaping and overcoming challenges.

Elevators, doors, locks, levels, directions, have been themes from day dot! The compass, part of their light stick is heavily referenced too. There's actually a lot of references to the original little mermaid in the film clip that I wouldn't have had a clue about tbh unless it was explained to me. Was a mix of Stray Kids themselves and I think possibly Bookish Theories that I found out a lot more from.

Here's another great reaction. One who is not afraid to watch these video even with those saying negative things about the collaboration. Thanks for always supporting Stray Kids! And yes, the elevator opening has almost always been shown in most of their videos. This started from Hellevator and has continued on.

The elevator is them not only moving upward and growing in their career, but also how they move between universes in their Lore. It's in a lot of videos, how they move between one universe to the other.

Roscoe, on the JYP channel is a video of the guys discussing working with Charlie Puth and I.N., Lee Know and Changbin talking about the challenges of the English lyrics as well as R and B feel of the song which is new for them vocally.

As the comments imply I think it's both a tribute to their pre-debut song and overcoming challenges! But I did also want to add that I think it's really smart of them, should the whole multi-dimension theory be brought up, that this elevator scene was shown specifically (the doors literally open) on the exact moment that Charlie Puth starts singing. Stray kids also have a "second dimension" to this song, being their OT8 version. If this was done with intent, it's honestly genius!

also! i love the choreo part where they dance in the rain on the street, but there’s also the ‘upside down’ version in the white outfits, their mermaid forms, where the lighting really looks to me like they’re underwater.

An additional thing I found fascinating is that they deliberately chose this aspect ratio to give it a more claustrophobic feel which hits so different once this ties to the whole theme of the video.

There is a bit of lore with doors. As the boys have moved through their universes the doors often represent leaving one universe to another. Leave the old and going into the new.

There has been doors and elevators in the skz lore since the beginning. I am not sur exactly of what it represents, but I remember seeing videos about skz storyline talking about the elevator and doors helping them jump between timelines and universes.

This song is just starting to grow on me. I had a confused grimace response from the beginning. I know they do so many different styles, but this one felt departed so much it didn't feel SKZ. I've found that watching behind the scenes type content to help and this has. I'm headed over to see what "making of" vids are out. And... mermaids? Was not expecting that. And sounded serious, as in not joking, so I am extra extra intrigued right now. (I think of Stray Kids as mermaids and it made me smile with loving amusement. Then I remembered Felix's pearls... now gotta also go check out the costumes more.) I'm not quite there yet, but this will be on my playlist---just a matter of time.

The elevator symbolism has been covered pretty well by others but for one lore theory. Game Theory the elevator is the change from the character building into the game play or different levels of the game

As I was watching you video, and understanding the concept of little mermaid and stuff, I think, and taking your comment about sound design...little mermaid concept is about giving up your voice for love...and in this case, they don't speak, so maybe, just maybe, the lack of spoken script and the use of post production sound might be in order to elevate the silence of the kids, that just sing in a few parts, not the whole mv as usual, and also to create the feeling of water/air (breathing sounds) just as the song (the beatbox part is amazing)...

They do incorporate a lot of doors (& elevators) ....walking through ........ yes BC and Hyunjin have beautiful lips! I liked the Stray Kids live version of this much better. I've not heard the mermaid theme.

I’m just trying to figure out the”Waffle House” link! It makes me giggle because at the Atlanta Day 2 concert in 2023 they asked where they should go eat after the concert and it sounded like an entire arena replied “Waffle House” in unison !!😂😂😂.
