Ponniyin Selvan: 1 is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language epic period action film directed by Mani Ratnam, who co-wrote it with Elango Kumaravel and B. Jeyamohan. Produced by Ratnam and Allirajah Subaskaran under Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions, it is the first of two cinematic parts based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel Ponniyin Selvan. The film stars an ensemble cast of Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R. Parthiban.

First Pan Indian Director is K.Balachander. His Telugu movie "Maro Charithra" was a blockbuster apart from his other hit movies in Telugu. @Macho no, he took Harris just to spite ARR. He had some grudges with ARR during Boys rerecording. We was in the loop of ARR musician team at that time and they confirmed this. No doubt Anniyan album was ok but it's not in the list of the ARR Shankar combo. Today you can't hear Anniyan songs much. Sounds quite redundant. But if you listen to Boys or Mudhalvan you can stil feel the same freshness and the music is timeless. Ofcource this could vary as per people's taste but this is my observation. Anirudh is an okay composer too. I'm not quite bothered about the songs in Indian 2, just that Indian had amazing BGMs I can't imagine Indian thatha not having those music back for him. Well let's see how it goes. But not having ARR in Anniyan or Indian 2 IS and WILL be a loss for Shankar.
