rob said a couple times that the success of the twilight franchise gave him the luxury of not having to work as much as he used to, so he was able to get involved in more artistic/independent projects that had a lot of acceptance from the critics. people act like the twilight movies are the worst thing that ever happened to him, but in fact he says that they were a magical way of spending his 20's and that he holds a lot of good memories from that experience. that's called growing and maturing as an artist.

As someone who have watched him since Harry Potter, and had to see him go through Twilight, he have reached a great place. Not about the Oscar, not about the most handsomely paid hollywood actor, but the one who gets to do films he wants, to create things he wanted to create, to work with people he wanted to work. All the other things are just bonuses that will come.

@@carolinahu485 He didn't mean it like that. He meant that he wasn't charging a lot of salary to be in a little indie. You would expect the star of a huge franchise like Twilight to demand $5 million to star in a film. Rob wasn't doing indies for the money, he was doing it to work with the directors he wanted to work with. Personally he's know as one of the most generous people ever. He often picks up the tab in a bar or restaurant and is a good tipper.

he is not wrong tbh. you obviously need a cheaper but a actor with a good amount of fame and credibility when you are making a movie with a budget of 20-25 million. coz if you go for a big household actor, then his salary alone will eat the whole budget or if you go for a more cheaper unknown actor, then nobody will show any interest in watching the movie at all

@@fikrijuanda6321 No, he's never cared about getting an Oscar. He made a list of filmmakers he wanted to work with, auteurs, and he set about working with them. He hated Twilight because he called it "filmmaking by committee," and he only wanted to work with great directors, not studio executives. If he wanted an Oscar, he would have taken many of the Oscar bait studio films that were offered to him, but he declined them all. You don't try to get an Oscar by working with unknown filmmakers like the Safdies and a French woman director like Claire Denis. He has never needed the kind of validation you get from awards. He is creating art and crafting a filmography that is the envy of his peers.

Maybe people should ask Stephenie Meyer how she feels about Rob because she, the writer of Edward Cullen loved Rob and said he is one of the few people who gets Edward. Even prior to Meyer giving Rob a draft of Midnight Sun, Meyer said he gets the essence of Edward. Even if he went through Breaking Dawn press like he didn’t like it, Meyer praised his performance as he didn’t break character despite being tired of all the press surrounding it.

@a.madison9625
@a.madison9625 3 жыл бұрын
It's not even a rumor, it's totally made up bullsh!t. Rob is one of the most professional actors who ever made a film, and he's also extremely respectful of his directors. The proof is that they work with him more than once. He's made two films with Cronenberg and Michold,, is going to make another one with Claire Denis at the end of this year, and Eggers is eager to work with him again. It's insane to think he's giving Matt Reeves a hard time, it's simply not possible. And everyone who has worked on The Batman only has good things to say. These fake rumors are designed to create negativity about Pattinson and the film by dumb fanboys who are either Marvel fans or fans of some other director who feel threatened by Pattinson or Batman.

It’s been recently reported by industry insider Daniel Richtman that Pattison’s salary is going from just under $5M for the 1st film to $20M upfront for the next film. If true, this would seem to be completely contrary to what appears to be a smear campaign.
@a.madison9625
@a.madison9625 3 жыл бұрын
@@swakyaby3339 I think all those salary numbers are total speculation. It's likely that Pattinson has a reasonable salary for the first film and a percentage of the gross--points. That's the kind of deal he had for his last franchise role, and it earned him at least $40 million, back in 2011. He isn't doing films for the paycheck now, he's said he'd rather quit acting that just do a film for money. But he's also not going to sell himself cheap for a role like Batman. In any case, all the negative rumors have been total fabrications. He's one of the easiest actors to get along with and all his directors praise him, including Nolan and everyone knows how tough he is.

Rob was cast by James Gray in The Lost City of Z in 2009. Brad Pitt was producing and also set to play the main character. When he decided not to act in the film, he was replaced by Benedict Cumberbatch. Rob was always set to play the explorer's son. When Benedict dropped out because his wife was pregnant, it took a while to get the film going again, and by the time they cast Charlie Hunnam, Rob was to old to play the son. He ended up playing the explorer sidekick and getting the notice of Christopher Nolan and Matt Reevves. The point is, Rob always wanted to work with auteurs, he never planned on doing commercial junk like Twilight. While Cronenberg introduced Rob to a lot of indie filmmakers via Cosmopolis, Rob was always on that path and would have gotten there eventually.
