46:11 its actually the opposite, I think. the ice 3 is lighter and has to go slow when near the viaducts. and the ICE 1 can go 280 on some routes

The ICE2 is light(control car). So the ICE2 should drive slower when its windy.

I can probably see them combine the features of Hanover Würzburg night Freight Slab track Rhein Main ETCS Luzern Sursee LZB S-Bahn Schnellfahrstrecke Köln Aachen end result is Schnellfahrstrecke Leipzig Bamberg .

Has anyone managed to get this at 280kph on this route as it was advertised? It’s always 250kph for me

The line has a geometry design of 300 km/h, the max service speed is 280 km/h however only outside of tunnels because classic carriage-trains are still allowed on the route and these are not well protected against the pressure-wave that develops when two trains meet in a tunnel so that's why the top speed inside tunnels is 250 km/h. In the coming years the old carriage-style trains will retire and they could raise the speed limit to 280 km/h on the full lengt. There are also some ideas/plans to raise the top speed to 300 km/h

@@eths_games at least the 200 km/h is not accurate to the reality. It's 250 km/h for ICE 3 and only when there are very strong winds it's lower

Halfway if you're on about taking it all the way to Frankfurt or beyond :) Only Kassel - Wurzburg on this route
