Sidenote: if you want to break into Jimmy’s shop don’t fuss with that safe door. You can sawzall thru the sheet metal siding in about 4.2 seconds.

I'm surprised the sheet metal didn't bend from the weight of the door. Nice job.

smae, I almost expected a 2x4 or two under the bottom wooden part as support. guess the sheet metal is pulling its weight :)

You just hold your pinky finger along the edge and stay steady.. If you were to look at it closely, you could tell that he still has a lot of flaws... but That's what I like about it the most--- just whip it up and go with it; there's no need for it to be perfect.

I have seen a number of similar vault doors hit the dumpsters on demolition jobs. Nobody but me wanted them...and I had no way to move them or place to store them. I also saw a number of large safes (5'-6' tall x 3'-4' wide) meet the same fate. They would have made great conversions into gun safes or just home safes. Space not being an issue. Glad you saved that one.

@loufaiella33543 жыл бұрын
Brilliant job....as always!! I think a final touch would be to connect another 2 pieces of wood on each side (a few feet is all that is needed) to the ground from the existing screw studs to get that weight off the sheet metal building.
