"Farm house" tables often have white painted legs and clear finished tops. It's a thing. We've got a commercial boughten one, but if I built one, I'd probably paint the base too. I like the look. What I don't understand is dark stain on light wood... We're all different, so I guess it's about what one finds to be attractive...
@juliengroulx3096

If it is actually going to be in a farm, the paint will protect the wood better than any kind of finish.
@halifaxmax5039

Yeah, those legs had so much character in the grain. Commissioned pieces are going for a certain "look", I suppose, and some details get lost to satisfy that.

I thought so at first, but the idea of having white legs and frame is growing on me. It really makes the top stand out. The richness of the wood becomes the focus because it's the only thing with an interesting pattern.
@Lalaland.001
@Lalaland.001 8 жыл бұрын
3scape4rtist Still think the wood grain on the burled wood looked amazing and since they are legs, it would actually add to the continuity of the entire table, they were amazing, white makes the top stand out but doesn't tie the piece together as a whole, but that's my personal taste, I guess...

That is some really nice wood you used there. Hard to find wood that nice and that large these days. I love that you added the paint was requested in the description. You know people want to see that wood, ha.

Very much different from recent videos. I liked these outdoor work locations. :)

This is a fantastic build! The top is beautiful but I really like the techniques that you used in building the trestle base. Amazing stuff!

Stunning work as always, myself and my 7yr old daughter have religiously watched every video for the past 2.5 years, it's our nightly routine. This is in our top 3. A very deserving accolade from a very astute 7yr old girl whom normally watches princesses.
