I stopped listening to Incubus after Morning View. You took the groove with you when you left and they were never quite the same to me. Which isn't really a bad thing as bands and artists change and grow in new directions but their stuff after your departure just never quite did it for me any longer. I'm 40 years old now, I still listen to all the Incubus stuff up to Morning View and you're one of my inspirations for deciding to learn to play the bass around 5 years ago. I'm in love with it.

Crow left to murder was a great album just like morning view. With that being said, sick sad little world from that album is my favorite and Alex had a part in that. He definitely had the groove. I wish they would do a reunion. I think that initial chemistry would spark new creativity.

“Devalued” huh? Incubus has always acknowledged Dirk Lance as a key (and original) member and never shied away from it He can promote things while mentioning he is a founding member of Incubus without any legal issues That doesn’t sound “devalued” to me

@@greganderson2239 that is one of the most shortsighted things I have ever heard “he is literally what made Incubus” 😆 huh? What about Mike, Brandon and Jose? You know, the other three founding members? That is a backhanded slap to the other members of Incubus, especially the three founding members. Ever heard of “majority rules”? Making it about your personal opinion is baseless. You have to look at it objectively. Clearly, it wasn’t working out on a personal level and a change had to be made. Plain and simple As for “devalued”, the definition is simple: “to reduce or underestimate the worth or importance of” Incubus has NEVER acted like Dirk didn’t exist and always acknowledged him as a founding member and that his importance to the bands legacy should not be understated. That doesn’t sound “devalued” to me 🤷 Kicking someone out of a band because it soured on a personal level doesn’t make that person “devalued” I think YOU are the one confused about what “devalue” means Please read a dictionary

@@mobeus84 I preferred the incredible funk and funky heavy rock metal don’t even know the names for these things. Just all of Science, Make Yourself, and Morning View. I also love the radio stuff after Dirk and some of the non-radio stuff, just far far far from almost all of it like I did with Dirk. Just music. It’s ok to grow apart and so forth. But just my two cents on the music and how it struck me.

I'll try this again cause youtube hates me and deletes my comments lol it did this last night on my boy brandon Hoovers vid. What I was saying was I'm not sure the great mr dirk will remember this, but here is a funny story from my teenage years. Dirk is my main influence when I was younger for buying a bass and trying to slap and get into that style. I was a huge incubus fan from fungus all the way up until morning view. Nothing against the records after those, I just like the other ones alot and I think that's mostly cause of dirk. So I seen incubus about 8 or 9 times and when I was about 13 or 14 i asked my grandmother and uncle to take me to an incubus show at ft Lauderdale fl which I had family living there and it was about 2 hours from where I live in sebring fl. This was my 4the time seeing incubus , the first being befor korn in Lakeland fl in 1998. I've never heard anything like that before and still think his bass lines are freaking classic. Anyways after the headline show for them ( right when make yourself came out) I waited outside by the bus . The first one to come out was mr lance and I looked at him shy and smiled and asked for his autograph. He looked at me and said sure let me go jerk off and shower and I'll be right back. Lol he came back to me and looked and me and said sorry or something cause he seen my grandmother waiting behind me lol . Which it didn't bother me, that's how I talk joking around anyways . But it was so cool that he came back out and talked to me for about 30 min. I got out of incubus after he left. Got back into them a few months ago and was like , where the hell is this awesome bass player at now and here I am. I have been listing to alot of mello stuff and alot of julien k lately and I'm definitely going to support this group. I love her voice and The music is great. I'm gonna hop off now and bye the album or Download it, what ever is available. But anyways he wont remember this story, but I just wanted to say thanks for making great music again. You are great dirk. Much love eric from fl
