Where the hell did Porzingis fans get this idea that Prime Dirk was somehow not as athletic and fast as Porzingis? Seriously, look at these games, are you really trying to tell me Dirk is slower and less agile than Porzingis? Nonsense

Porzingis will never be dirk, and no way in hell he will ever be better than dirk in his prime. Stupid porzingis fans, NYC fans always trying to act like their shit is better including players on their teams. Porzingis will always be a wannabe dirk, and that's about it.

Very true but Porzingis has a great potential to be as good as Dirk both are very humble and great basketball players

Slow down buddy, Porzingis wish he could be on Dirk level and single handedly destroy the NBA in 2011!!

For whatever reason both fans and the media have bought into the narrative that Dirk was always slow, nonathletic, and could never play defense. Anyone who watched his younger years knows that's bullshit. He was never a power player or a great defender, but the dude could run like a deer as a 7 footer and had great footwork. There's a reason he's top 10 in scoring all-time and went to the playoffs almost every year of his career, and it's not just because he was a great shooter. Guy was a beast all around on offense and didn't become a real defensive liability until way later in his career.

Exactly, although I don't know what happened to Dirk that made him so slow. I just looked at Melo vs Dirk in 2009, and goddamn Dirk was so ridiculously slow that it took him like five seconds to retrieve a ball that got poked in the half-court. Compare that to this video, where Dirk's able to out-run people on fastbreak. While I still found his body fakes and control to be nowhere near the most coordinated players, his lateral speed was very, very good.

Yeah it's just so sad tho that we don't have at least 2 more rings with the type of teams Dirk has had in the past. Good thing he finally brought one home for us in 2011 and thank God i was there to watch it.
@tnaimpact8 жыл бұрын
+Bryce Harris That was tough for Dirk to win a ring because it was always Lakers/Spurs back then. I think Dirk would have had 3 rings. 1 with Steve Nash/Michael Finely or 2 if they kept them all together because they were the big 3! 2007 would have won a championship because they were #1 seed but got blown out by Golden State when Don Nelson was coaching that team but they loss because Don knew the Mavs plays when he was the coach. 2006 was their chance remember? Lead the series 2-0 over Miami but loss series 4-2. I'm glad 2011 was our yr!

I agree, and the 06 finals still burn even till this day.

06 they had that when leading series 2-0 over Miami but then they tied series 2-2 playing in Miami 3 straight lol & trailed it 2-3! Dirk would have 2-3 rings

Everybody compares Porzingis to Dirk. And that's ok. They have a lot similarities in their game but Dirk was a loooooot quicker with and without the ball than Kristaps! also quicker realase! He was born shooter / scorer!
