I like to think that after Dirk discovered why Dave was reacting like that, he put the hat in his closet and never took it back out again. Then he told Jake that it was to keep the hat "safe" so he could cover up that fact without either hurting Jake's feelings or airing Dave's dirty laundry to him without Dave's input.

Dirk/Bro VA here! So funfact about that little part where Dirk was rambling about Jake, that was mostly adlibbed and I did a couple slightly different versions of it (mostly the same idea but just different words and pacing), so I was curious which version would be put in the video! I'm glad everyone's liking the dub so much!

I love this and I love these va's I never say it enough. Happy Dirk, sad Dave. Dirk sounds so cute and happy. Dirk's a tough character to va but this one is really good. And Dave is actually, genuinely heartbreaking to hear. And the jump from bro's tough, cold tone of voice to Dirk's worried and frantic one is really well done. It's such a sharp tonal shift because it's the same voice but not the same ~voice~ ya know? Anyway amazing dub! Keep it up.

now I wanna see a seperate comic where the group helps dave overcome his ptsd to live a happier healthier life like, the group is together, karkat's there as backup support incase dave needs to hide, and they practice training out that life-or-death responce, A-dirk slowly puts on the cap, slowly walks towards dave, and hugs him in an attempt to use positive reinforcement to slowly break down that wall, no sudden movements or anything, and an easy escape incase things get too dicey
