spitfire labs, decent sampler, spitfire bbc orchestra are all free, the purity trial can really be used to make whole songs, i got a bunch of free shit but my hard drive aint plugged in rn to run thru it and jog my memory. if you google free whatever you want youll find something, then look up youtube reviews of it or lists of good free plugins to see what you fw before you install it. not all my stuff is free and not all of it was um... bought... but ive spent almost no money and have like at least 800 instruments and effects. just keep your ear to the ground and theres some gems youll pick up

I send all my melodies to 1 bus, and automate an eq on that bus which cuts out some low end to make room for the 808. The reason i automate it, is so i can leave the low-end in the sample when there are no drums playing. Hope this helps!
