I love all your videos! I got my first bike over the winter and I have been watching all your tutorials while the snow melts out in the mountains. (I live in Calgary) Can't wait to put your techniques into practice :) Please keep making videos!

Did the same on my 18 -701...dry as in a desert 😉.. I would like to see a video about how to set up the suspension for offroad and trial like driving. 👍🏻

Nice video thanks m8, did you find the torque settings anywhere, doesn't deem to be in the workshop manual at all.

Yes there in the specifications section in the owners manual the two nuts are 74 ftlb the main swing arm is 60 lbft the lower shock bolt is 33 lbft and I forget the other ones!

Hey Heddle! I'm just up the road in Vernon from you! I'm trying to nail down the torque specs in the manual, and with it being Austrian the wording is a bit... vague. I know this is from a while ago but what torques did you use? I think I'll figure it out as I take things apart but a little advice doesn't hurt! The owners manual, conveniently, doesn't have any instructions for servicing the rear suspension, and I'm too cheap to buy the service manual! Cheers!

Thanks for posting it, I'm in the middle of my 2009 690 R big check up and also wanted to remove the swingarm and check the bearings. However, I am not sure how to remove it. I have already removed all bolts and both ends seem to be the same, 20mm metal tube from both ends, and the in the middle and through the engine must be another longer metal tube. I am not sure how I can remove the ends to fully take the swingarm off the bike. Any tips for me? Thanks

That's why you get one with a grease fitting. Kouba link.

Ya that would be handy my XR has grease fittings in all the links!

What size counter sprocket are you running on your 690? I was thinking about going to a 14t.
