You went to the Old port Basilica but there's also a free to enter historic church, Chapelle Notre Dame de Bon Secours, right next to the Bonsecours market. The statue of Mary on its roof faces the waterfront to guide fishermen back to land. And if you timed it right there's a headless ghost that shows up there every 7 years.

would be pretty cool to show us in some sepparate video how you planned out all this stuff, so we can have the same fun for the same price on our own travels.
@chasbruns7 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment, but we don't actually plan anything out. We feel that is what makes the show unique. We literally just show up to a location and start filming and walking around. Some days we find cool stuff to do and others not so much, but it usually works out for the best. For instance, Village au Pied-du-Courant we only found out about because we saw a flier at the hostel for it and the Trash Bar and Arcade Bar we literally just randomly walked into while we were bar hopping. I used to work on a lot of well known television shows and my least favorite part about working on the them were the all the meetings and pre-prep and scouting, etc., etc. I mean, if you're shooting a 100 million dollar film with Brad Pitt, then yes, storyboard it, scout locations, etc. But if you're shooting reality, just let it be reality. People can tell when something is faked or scripted. I say just buy your ticket and see what happens. Good luck! ( :

I totally agree w/Chas. My first trip to Montreal, I planned (or tried to plan) my itinerary. Sure, I had a good time, because, hey, it's Montreal after all. But the second time I visited Montreal, the only thing I planned was my accommodations because, well, Canadian Customs wants to know where you're staying. All activities, though, were spontaneous. Fliers definitely were key (festivals, fairs, park concerts, food events), as were cool locals who were, like, "We're going [fill in event here]. You want to come?" The third time in Montreal, I made lifelong friends there, and they're so open and tolerant (in so many ways) that it's liberating. So, maybe I'm Montreal-biased or Quebec-biased, but I could *feel* or sense the impromptu/spontaneous energy of Chas' video. That's what I love about Chas' videos -- as well as his voice-over and humor, and direction and budget tracking throughout, and ...

@@chasbruns Its a very old Cockney rhyming slang, means prostitute :) They are all very funny. Dog bone - telephone, so dog means phone. Plates of meat - feet. "He knocked me off me plates, mate". I googled it to find out that Brass door rhymes with a whore, therefore brass means whore. lol

Loves animals, but eat their flesh. Nice dude but also a hypocrite.
@chasbruns6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I go back and forth on it. I was vegan for the past few months and then out of nowhere I've been eating meat like every meal all summer (and I gained 10 pounds by the way). I just need to be more disciplined. Plus, I just love chicken nuggets, lol. But you're right. We should all stop eating animal products. Not only is it cruel to the animal, but it's awful for us. I just wish someone would find a way to make fake chicken that actually TASTES LIKE CHICKEN! I did have a veggie burger recently called the "Impossible Burger" and I honestly couldn't tell the difference. It tasted like real meat. So we're headed in the right direction! I bet by 2077 no one will eat meat anymore. It will be too expensive to produce, too unhealthy to eat and too cruel to allow it to continue. Fingers crossed!
