Break in is for rings to seat anyway. These little nitro engine do t have rings there really isn’t a need for heat cycles

There is simple RULE in tuning nitros; put it at default setting, tune the HIGHSPEED! first and only. When at full speed like 3secs in, no smoke is coming out of the exhaust, turn it back 1/8 untill you see smoke again. Then go to the low speed needle and adjust it for a quicker pickup. Idle might need little adjustment in between if when you tune it leaner on the highspeed, it might start rolling on its own. Its not that difficult...

Yeah I have two WLToys 144001's and a 144010. The words are quite random. For instance it says "west" on the wings. I am like "wtf??" And the manuals are even better. Like the smoke feature for HengLong tanks ( I have plenty of those too). There is a little hole where you put the smoke. They label this as "the hole for adding" LOL weird stuff.

I had a friend who was into nitro RCs a few years ago. It was always the same procedure when we tried those cars: IF they started he had to spend ages setting them up before we even did our first runs. Drove a lap, more tuning. Drove two or three laps, even MORE tuning. Then the car died for unknown reasons and would not start again. Then there was the smell and grime. Everything was sticky, oily and nasty. That's why I love electric RCs: insert the lipo, put the body on and off we go until the battery runs flat or we break something.

First you have to run them in properly. There is always a manual so RTFM. Thousands reviews on KZbin how to run it in and to tune it . Nitro is lighter and the cars are more balanced. Electric drives like a brick compared to nitro Your gears and diffs last a lot longer and because you have a clutch the control is better . Not on or off like a electric . It is better for racing

Proportional throttle has been in every hobby grade electric rc since forever, and with the right setup you can make them so powerful you can do standing backflips, you can get reinforced diffs for almost every popular car too, maybe 40 years ago electrics were crap but now the only real reason to get a nitro is for the gimmick of using and maintaining a combustion engine Look, what I'm trying to say is, I'm sure you have plenty of reasons to prefer nitro over electric, but your reasons to diminish EVs aren't as solid as you might think

Hi Kevin the best way for you to learn to tune your own nitro is when they are new out the box is to only ajust the HSN first (don’ Worry about the LSN for now) when you have got the engines high RPMs sorted with no high speed bogging start to lean out the LSN until you get the acceleration peaking. Only turn needles in very little bits at a time and remember how much you have turned in order to go back and start again if you mess up. Good luck mate 😉

Alright Kevin. You are literally the best reviewer I've seen for rc. JEGS the performance parts company recently had an rc line they came out with. Pretty expensive but no real reviews yet. I think you should get ahold of these. They look like kid grade with a hobby grade price but ide be interested if you could show us all!

You need a temperature gun, to read the head temperature. it's actually quite easy find out the temperature the manufacturer wants the engine to run at you drive it and you turn the idle screw in little increments until it's running at the temperature you want... You don't tune a nitro engine by it's idle screw. Temperature and sound to tune the high speed needle, then after fu throttle the return to idle is then adjusted/tuned with the low speed needle. Idle gap is the final tune, if both the high and low speed needles are adjusted properly then the idle stop screw (idle gap) is then set.

Engine moved again - this was my first and last experience of a nitro. Fun when they work, but no way I'd go back when you can get 60mph+ electric trucks that you just turn on and go. No glow sticks, no messy nitro, no neighbours complaining about the noise....

nitro rc cars are cool there easy to use but it is faster to just use a electric you just turn it on but a nitro you have to wait a bit and they is some fast ones faster then 60mph and there actually pretty cheap compared to electric ones some of them but a good thing about nitro ones you dont have to wait for it to charge and the fuel is really cheap

Hey Kevin I recently picked up this nitro but in the desert truck version. The one you got had a single speed and mine came with a 2 speed. I have a carnage brushed it's a cheap RC but it's got the same tyres and how many times I have grip rolled the thing because of how good the tyre are it probably tops out 25/30 depending maybe go faster if I wasn't on the stock battery

They run hot the first 5 tanks or so. Best to let cool down between tanks. Too cold it can't burn fuel too hot it seizes. Once in the engine gets hot use smaller turns on the high speed.
