Dirt Daily. How to Swap a Battery in a Dusty Forgotten Hot Rod Jeep.

I built this Jeep in 2015 at Synergy Manufacturing for Ultimate Adventure, but it's been a while since I've had it out wheeling and the battery is dead. Plus the Jeep has been buried under a bunch of junk and cobwebs in the shop. On this episode I'll get it back up and running to prepare for it's next adventure with a new battery, but even a battery swap isn't easy on this Jeep.

My absolute favorite Jeep build of all time is the summer camp Jeep. Watch that ultimate adventure it was in and how much power and how badass the suspension is in it. Only bad thing I’d say is it doesn’t offer much rain protection

A few things. 1-that episode wasn't long enough..2-I don't think I'd ever let that Jeep sit long enough to kill the battery, its too awesome to not drive. 3-I can't really say that, I only have 2 vehicles and mine will sit long enough to give me that dreaded slow crank sometimes when I finally drive one. 4-- I can understand how that sits that long when you have a bunch of cool rigs like Fred has...5- that's the safest battery mount I've ever seen, no way that battery is falling out of there..lol

Love the Jeep, but the battery placement is a concern, considering how difficult it is to get it in case of emergency & the potential for damage, especially considering it is laid up against a body panel in a Jeep built for off-roading where dents are common. Do I even need to mention the poor Avalanche? I would certainly think about moving the battery to a better spot.

Awesome! I have a Jeep question. I have a 98 Jeep TJ with Dana 30 and Dana 35 axles. I purchased some King 2.0 by 14in travel coil overs for it. I have 2 for the rear. Just wondering if I can make those shocks work with the Dana 35 or do I need to switch it out for something better?
@LScout800
@LScout800 Жыл бұрын
It is a lot more work than just bolting in coilovers, with the amount of work nesesary for the jeep you should definetely upgrade axles... 14 inch coilovers are big.

Hey Fred! I have a tech question. Maybe you or someone on here can answer. I have an 85 Waggy 44, front end with no knuckles. And I have a 86 CJ Dana 30 WITH knuckles. Do you know if I can run these CJ knuckles on on the Waggy front end? I've been searching and I've seen conflicting information on whether my tie rod could clear the diff cover or not. Thanks in advance!

It's baffling to me the difference in content between Fred and Dave working apart in their own shops after years of seeing them together. Dave seems like he gets way more done but maybe it's just how much editing/condensing of content he puts in. Not calling Fred a slacker, just my two cents...
