Monster Energy is the "title sponsor" of the series. It is not their series. Feld Motorsports is the actual promoter that puts on the events. Monster pays a lot of money to have their name on it just the same as they have recently title sponsored the Nascar cup series. Many riders have personal or team energy drink sponsors. The current champion Ryan Dungey races for Red Bull KTM Factory Racing. These sponsorships apply to most series where you see energy drinks involved. The sponsors would certainly like it if one of their sponsored athletes was the champion, but that requires they have the best athlete to begin with.
