As a kid I lived by Leo's Speedway in Oshkosh, WI. Every Tuesday night there was dirt track racing. Dave Conger and Roger Regeth are a couple of the names I remember best. The fairgrounds used to have horse races and had a giant old wooden grandstand. They played rock-n-roll 45's on the P.A. before the races while the water-truck sprayed down the track; then the flagman put on a scratchy rendition of the national anthem and the lead car did a lap carrying the stars and stripes. Good memories of being there with my Dad. We moved and then the races ended and the grandstand got torn down. Photos are from the track - unfortunately I couldn't find any good ones of the grandstand. Words and music by me.
