I put one in my 22, I could not tell much difference at first. Once I rode it is when I noticed a huge difference when at a traffic light. For those not the fence I highly recommend it. A few insulation tip. I did not put the engine atTDC but I did remove the spider washer. It took me about ten minutes to do this upgrade.

The official dirt tricks vid, which isn't on the 890, says you must make sure the engine sits at top dead center when you remove and replace, else the timing may get thrown out. On the 2 vids people have done on the 890 doesn't talk about this and i wanted to confirmhow to make sure I'm at TDC...
@DragosRDS9 ай бұрын
Hello Jason. Yes on the website it sais so about the 250/300 engines. The 890 is a different machine, fundamentally. Me and some of the friends installed it like in the video. No problems

Hello. Thanks for the video, I'm waiting for mine to arrive so I can install it. I wanted to tell you that, after watching other videos, there is a washer on nut 22 that acts as a conical base for the old tensioner, and they say that it has to be removed when installing this new one. I hope this contribution is useful. Greetings from Spain.

It looks like you left the spyder washer in? I removed mine as the spyder washer is too small of a diameter to properly catch the end of the Dirt Tricks tensioner and have it see square inside the cap. With the spyder washer it also puts a very large gap between the end of the tensioner and the cap. I trimmed my spyder washer instead of removing it entirely because I worry without one in then the oil flow could potentially be restricted to the end of the DT tensioner. It still functions on oil pressure with the spring as a backup/assist. I've been having an issue with my tensioner locking out, but I'm going to try again tomorrow. I may need to return my tensioner because 3 times now it has not extended and locked. My timing chain has jumped every time, and I've had to tear the cams back apart. I've recognized it each time because I have the engine apart to check valve clearance, but I would have been in trouble had I done this without having the top end of the engine apart for the clearance check.

@@georgigabrov I don't think so. Usually the start problemas are caused either electrically either from a fueling problem. So gas or electricity (and in the modern bike case electronics). We will see maybe in the future.

Salut, bun video. Am si eu o intrebare. Intinzatorul normal este cu presiune de ulei iar aceata e mecanic? Sau ambele sunt cu presiune de ulei, doar ca acesta nou este inbunatatit?
@DragosRDS7 ай бұрын

If you read the instructions on the Dirt Tricks website about installation, it specifically says 250/350 to put at top dead center. Here is what is says as I copied and pasted it here, "All model 250/350’s run the risk of jumping time from the removal of the OEM Tensioner". The 890 is a completely different engine.
