Wow! I have been in construction for 21 years and am really blown away by the quality and attitude to your work, even when things don't work out sometimes. That is so hard to find now-a-days. We are about to pour a VERY similar job for my folks this weekend, but I've never really been a concrete guy so I was looking for tips. I am so happy I found this video. THANK YOU! Keep up the great work.

As a concreter of 42 years in Australia. When we pan the concrete we pass it 3 to 4 times one way then the other way then repeat it again and trowel the edges every hit for a better job.

9 ways to skin a cat I guess! As you know whether environment all play a part in the way you finish the Crete! Each pour is different if this was out in the hot sun we would hit the edge every time! Thanks

I thought you'd have a new one in the works and you did. Of course, MICROSOFT decided to put updates into my computer as I clicked on your vid. So now @ 4:14am I get to thank you for this new one. Mike, our 'Big Guy', it's like a continuation of last fall with not a hitch to be seen (or spoken of) - just a 'nice a nice' or like my "noni" used to say, Bona Bona! Looking really good you guys as always. God bless, always! Sonny (CT)

great video, only thing I'm confused on is you saying at 13:25 "you only use it one time on the first hit" then said at 17:20 took six hits to get it the way I liked it". I'm assuming that hits = a full pan use across the total surface area. So took you 6 hits with the pan till you found the smoothness you were looking for. Sound right?
@DIRT-BOSS Жыл бұрын
No one hit with the pizza pan that goes on the bottom of the power trowel.. the other hits are just with the blade's

AWESOME WORK! We had a cement contractor estimate our pole barn and he said we needed all those lines for cracks like a sidewalk has. I said why can't we just have it all one slab with no lines? What is your expert advice sir? He kept saying there's going to be cracks and the lines (whatever he called them) will limit the span of any cracks. I like the way you have it in one slab. Please advise.
@DIRT-BOSS2 жыл бұрын
No the next day we saw cut it for expansion joints you have to cut the concrete otherwise it will crack in all directions..

Dirt Boss Masonry & Excavating I’m personally partial to Pasta, but a good slice every now and again goes a long way😂. Nah, foreal though, does the pizza pan just hook onto the trowels on the bottom or is it an entirely different assembly?

do you worry about bowing out the skirt board when you pour it to the top of the skirt board on a pole barn. About to do a similar pour. I have been told to leave at 3 3/4 to the top of the skirt board. any tip would be great.
@DIRT-BOSS10 ай бұрын
No it should be fine but you could put steaks in between your post on the outside to support or put some dirt up against it and then remove after
