The couch is clean.. But the germaphobe in me is saying no. I would've probably replace the cushion and wash the coverings in disinfectants like detol or whatever. Even then I don't think I'd be able to sit on it. But well done guys. It's great for the environment and someone less fortunate (who's not germaphobe) can enjoy this sofa. 👍👍

@j.p.b.3012 Жыл бұрын
I unfortunately agree with some of the other commenters. It was a great surface cleaning, but it really needs to be deep cleaned before it's re-homed somewhere else. Also..you don't need to spray it with bug sprays or anything like that. A really heavy dose of Ammonia or a non-staining bleach alternative should work as well. The cushions, foam, and backing should be liberally soaked through. And as you mentioned, the micro-fiber should really be mechanically agitated before being extracted and steamed. I would probably let it dry and hit it one last time with micro-ban or a reasonable alternative before calling it a day. That being said...absolutely loved the effort.

I know this was 2 yrs ago...but for future endeavors, if the tag on the couch says it was made by a company in Kansas, it probably has a lifetime guarantee. For the cushions, you just take the foam out, send the covers to them and they will replace it. They will clean the covers too but I think there is a fee for that. That looks like the suede they use and it's possible you might have been pulling off some of the dye. They are really expensive couches. Give you A+ for trying so hard! 👏👏👏

No couch is worth that much work without stipping it to the bones...except my original vintage1950s MCM couch in which I did just that! ......Including, dismanteling and pitching every layer of cushion batting and horse hair, replacing horse hair with new, replacing internal foam cushions with brand new, ripping out all the pieces of original 1950s fabric with hundreds of tacks and staples and labeling the pieces then putting them in a bathtub filled with soap, water and bleach to kill the mildew smell and agitating them over the over again, leaving them out in the sun for days to bone dry, and spraying down the skeleton wooden frame with bleach and leaving out in the full sun for a week, then layering and working the whole piece back together including sewing on the original fabric pieces to fit like a glove! Best and most comfortable couch I have ever been on and NO SMELL WHATSOEVER! ... And I'm highly sensitive to allergens, mold and mildew! Can't believe this worked!
