"It takes money to buy whiskey". That is what my teetotaling grandmother used to say. Not sure how she knew this but the sentiment was spot on. You need the tools to do a job. If you have so much upcoming tile work, this makes total sense, despite what beancounters might say. I love seeing the 850J and tile plow, but that tractor is getting heavily used and a backup is in order. I strongly suspect that both plows might wind up on farmer Chris jobs. Just hope this works out.

If you ever saw the size of those Canola fields in southern Alberta Canada, that reel on the front would make sense. You can look down the rows on both sides of the highway and they are straight all the way to the horizon each way. I mean miles and miles of field not like our little chopped up stuff between tree lines here. (for them it is Kilometers) One run would be many rolls of tile without a turn or bend anywhere in it. So yeah that would explain why it makes sense for them but not for Indiana.

Speaking aboutfinal drives. Also keep a good eye on the track tensioners as the sprockets are actually on the wrong side for a puller. All power of the sprockets will constantly on the tensioners as they pull the track on the top side during installation. Old trenchers have this design as well but this was to keep sand out of the tracks not a problem a plow has.

Something to think about. If you have traction problems in slimy ground. Take every 4th pad off (make filler plates). It will help dig through mud instead of floating and spinning out. That’s how my machine is set up and it works great.

I was wondering what those plates with the J like protrusions welded onto them are supposed to be used for? I thought they might be used as accessory bolt on traction plates but I did not see any bolt holes drilled through them. They were the last thing loaded onto Aarons trailer.

That thing needs a cat 3 quick hitch on the front so you can add a detachable hydraulic winch or if needed hook up a counter weight to it, if you only had single function to the front you just add an electric diverter for lift operation and then flip the switch and it'll control the winch instead that way if you do get a bigger tractor the winch can go on it too

@@donaldnoftsger4124 You know, what you say makes good sense once you bring up the subject about the required changing of the boot size with diameter change in tile size. DP one thing l have to say is you always look to see how the equipment will fit into your fleet ..Looking forward to all the new adventures in 2025
@stevecummins783416 күн бұрын
The fact that the tile "chute" swivels or pivots behind the "chisel" on this new rig means that the "tail assembly will not wag the dog" so to speak, like the one rigidly mounted behind the 850J does. This is the main reason why the 850J is so hard to steer or keep on track when the lay of the land causes the plow to "steer" the 850 off course. They literally have to drag the plow chute through the ground sideways to be able to pull the tractor back on course.
