I know us old farmers are out of date with you modern guys thinking, but I'll try another tip with you. We always filled our tractor tyre tubes right to the top of the rim with water instead of air, really helps the traction, and better for the tractors pivots than carrying heavy weights above the axle line . Also if you get a puncture it takes a very long time to go down, so you can get to a place where it's easy and safe to work on. But you probably know some reason for not doing it. Really enjoy the videos, many thanks.

tips and tricks learned along my journey- "to be a diesel maintenance mechanic you have to first learn to rebuild the power washer, then keep washed parts in the yard for two days after washing before bringing into shop and after you try and blow all the water off with an air nozzle" rules to live by in the shop rule #2 put the hoist controls up high enough Man behind the scenes can't reach them

Kind of wish we slowed down for winter, but unless it's fine finish work we usually cut the mud off and keep moving dirt, it's good to see a company invest in preventative maintenance. Unfortunately the company I work for (aside from regular oil changes) embraces the old addage of "run it till it breaks". Keep up the awesome content!

Wow, always good to watch DP maintenance, and Matt as a bonus! I read through the comments and in summary I would say you need to: 1. Pull maintenance on your pressure washer. 2. Get hot water or a steam cleaner. 3. Plan ahead and just wash the equipment then let it set for a few days so all the water can evaporate out of the weird spots. You don't need to make money with this stuff, just keep it clean...LOl Now, these do not come from me, I stole them from your comments best ones of course!!!

Hey you didn't show it but I hope you changed the grease zekts. The old ones may still work but I bet they had some dirt in them and as bad as those bushings looked, they most likely don't have much life in them. As far as washing goes it is always nice for the equipment to have a top to bottom cleaning at least once a year with all belly plates and guards off (we did ours at the end of the year and before winter maintenance). But throughout the year they did get a good pressure washing whenever they came back to the shop. What worked nice is we had a ramp we could use

I’ve used mdd as my like that intact my main pressure washer is a diesel driven cold water washer and it’s great. But I’ve used many hot high pressure cleaners too and the combination of hot water 60-90 degrees Celsius ( sorry I’m in UK 🇬🇧) and pressure just cleans so well and removes more stubborn grease and oils etc, again I wasn’t saying yours is bad just sharing my own experience and I’ve spent a lot of time cleaning machines and parts for repair and servicing etc. cheers David

Hello D.P.; It's always a pleasure watching a video from you. While you're out and about look for a steam cleaner. Once you get to use one you'll throw rocks those pressure washers. They use (at least the one I had did) diesel and can be plugged into a wall outlet. Regarding maintenance, It's the old factor of "Spend some money and time now or be forced to do it at the most in-opportune time for a lot more money". Great video, looking for the next one.

Planned maintenance are the best maintenance. I would recommend to get an electric motor for the crane to get rid of the air one slow and loud. You said that you were changing out the fleet in the pod cast and you know why. Try to do the same with some of the tools, the hearing will not come back after you lose it. I would get 3M PELTOR there a bit costly but compared to others but they work and if you calc how many hours you use them its a low cost per hour Little rant Me personal would get a bigger press not saying that anything wrong with the one you have, just as i complained to MBTS about that press to. right tools for the jobb less accidents. Everyone get a bit blind in your own shop me to about some tools. if you have sentimental value for a tool good hang it on the wall show it dont use it. If you use a screwdriver from 1800 cool dont care, but power tools do not age like fine wine...

@@MrGhostLt I see you know nothing about motors. I will repeat what I said Mike would have to have 3 Phase power in his building. I’m sure he doesn’t. Are there hoists available that will run 220 single phase? Yes they even make some that will run on 110 volts. BUT they are so slow and have a short duty cycle they would be painful to use. Ideally 460/480 3 phase would be ideal but you are not going to find that type of power in a residential setting for the most part. Did you Farmer Chris’s video on how much it cost him to have that type of power brought to his property?
