The hoses to the shocks being on the outside of the roll cage is actually an in-dealership assembly error. When we assemble ours, we put them on the inside for the exact reasons you mentioned here. It’s a fairly easy fix as well, 4 hex wrench bolts to undo the mounting clamp and switch it around.

I owned a 2018 x3 max and a yxz1000r. And pick up my 2022 smart shox this Sunday. I am excited about the smart shox because I watch a ton of shock therapy videos and they swear by it. The fact that I can hit comfort and cruise with the kids and than say “everybody out, daddies going into sport plus mode” without having to get my tools out to adjust my suspension is well worth the money 😀

The shocks are worth it . Now, me Schwag pack please. I commented a while back about selling my Maverick Trail 1000 and getting an X3. After realizing it was going to potentially be close to a year before my ordered 22 DS Turbo RR came in i went and snatched up a 22 DS Turbo from my guys . The baby Turbo still got the double shear rear radius rods and smart lok , and 30% thicker cage for 22. Just not the new PDrive primary . 30” carnivores . She’s a beauty! Installed accessories Saturday and it’s at local shop getting winch and soundbar installed right now . Uploaded a vid of the kiddos easing it around the yard . Another great review Luke ! Cheers.

This is probably most detailed video that I've found the ride that I'm looking for with smart shox. I agree some features should come standard at that price point. For me though this is the front runner that I'm looking to purchase. For the cost difference I think it's totally worth having the smart shox.

I am in the market of buying one of these, I do love the smart shock, but also it seems like it takes away the gear head in me, lol it does all the thinking for me over different terrains, but at the same time, you don’t have to stop to manually adjust the shock ride…. Hence I have to on my fox shocks on my general. Adjust on the fly seems to be pretty feasible, but also like you said the hose on the rear outside of cage is a concern, snagging etc. if I get one I’ll definitely be doing a flip around and get it tucked inside the cage. Awesome review and thanks.

Another great video Luke, Thanks. I love smart shocks. I wish they would put it on some of the trail models like the Maverick sport and RZR S1000. I also don't like how noise they are electronically. Sound bars intercoms and radios I have noticed that even with the most powerful noise filters I still see interference coming through the sound. Small details but things I wish would be improved or added.

Love the smart-shox tech, and is part of the reason I'm plannining to purchase the can-am maverick max, 4 seater. You did an amazing job at explaining the features, likes and dislikes. I also think that at this price point for a top of the line side X side, and top of the line it in fact is! It should come with "full" front and rear doors or at least optional at no extra cost. As far as the screen goes, for me I'd like to see a color screen as well with the option to change between the color spectrum but as far as the telemetry information, although it would be nice but I think it would take away from it's outdoor ruggedness but just my opinion. Again thank you for this video it is very informative for anyone who may or after watching this video, if they were not sure why can-am? They should be 100% sure why can-am is in my opinion the best side X side in not just looks but performant as well!

Hey Dirt trax, for one I think they should have these available on all models as you never know who would get the most out of them, I also think smart shocks depends on what your riding and how your ride, although I do believe they can be used in any terrain and would benefit pretty much everyone but I feel like the smart shocks would be more useful for a high performance driver who’s going through fast trails big whoops big jumps and might notice the added benefits of the smart shocks vs the everyday rider on the trails, going through mud and riding a variety of other terrain but wouldn’t notice the added benefits as “much” as the high performance driver. So yes I do think the smart shocks are worth the extra coin and most likely would be benefit every rider but they might not get as noticed from the average rider than the higher level rider. Keep up the great work Dirt Trax/supertrax/snowtrax!

Smart shocks are the evolution from the QS3, But you are 100% correct, you need the controls on a dash-centered touch screen.. This is a much more advanced version of shock from the QS3, that gives the average guy all the control, without the thinking. As most of us love the fact that we can adjust our shocks, but many times will not, as we don’t want to. I love the QS3, as even my wife can feel the difference. So this just takes it to a new level. and like a $250K Surf boat with infinite adjustments, they need presets that the average guy can set once they find that sweet spot for common riding styles.

Great video! I agree, the electronics are ancient and totally need a revamp! Wheres the Bluetooth, navigation, stereo, and importantly the live shock data? Seems they're decades behind Polaris when stepping into the high end models. They've lost their sense of value for when sitting in this one vs a base model... difference being just a couple toggle/ rocker switches. Surely it's not the same model as a base but it sure feels that way. One can argue that stock stuff is never that good anyway, but it's not even offered to someone at $40k?

I have a non smart shox of the same bus on order. I wanted to avoid smart shox. Couple of points The valve is great as is.. protects from getting busted on rocks. I'm ok with it being "hard" to access. Doors i think can am should have the aluminum full doors on XRS which seal and don't rattle because of sealing. Smart shocks accounts shaft speed, vehicle speed, wheel location just to name a few, mote than dynamix. Its a great system but cannot adjust rebound separately from compression and can make it more difficult to set up in very aggressive conditions like Arizona riding. Also more expensive to rebuild. Hence the reason I went with normal XRS and ill get a shock therapy spring kit with $ i saved. SS is cool that it can also eliminate body roll and account for breaking bumps but I still decided not to get it and wait for maybe my next X3 with a DCT and 220 hp haha I agree with the screen and this is the upgrade screen, but I'm not a fan of the spyder and now skidoo upgrade screen. X3 is intended as a driver focus machine and they don't want drivers looking at numbers other than speed and rpm. Have you compared the new pDrive with previous X3 slider shoe primary. Sound is no argument the best, especially with a cat delete.

I wish my outlander 1000 max had smart shocks.

That would be amazing. Really hoping Polaris or Can-Am will add Active Suspension to its ATVs.

Great video, I'm one of those people that appreciate the small details. I have to say, when spending over 30k on a "toy", I'd expect the doors to not make a wobbling noise when closed. To me, that's a deal breaker... is that petty? Maybe so, but still.

Suspension is 🥰🥰🥰 love it! Personally I dont care about display, its not a GT car. Would be nice to have rear storage box in stock. Otherwise- best women carrier ever built 😍

I think smart shox are good for people who are pushing the limits or racing, but I'm worried about how the technology holds up 5 or 10 years from now. I'd imagine all the parts are expensive to replace.

Yet another awesome video Dirt Trax. In my opinion, the smart shox are worth not worth it. Dont get me wrong - they are a super luxury to have, but for the common rider (90 percent) I don't think they are worth the price tag.
