Shirley, you exceeded yourself. I was aware that you have a great singing voice, abundance of talent and put utmost effort in everything you do. Some of your works are so funny that one may easily overlook all of that. But this video and song - from your singing voice to instruments and arrangement plus the collection of little films to a whole and seamless collection of dancing couples in their mature years is just beyond. It oozes love to what you do, immense talent and skills plus, not to forget, a good dose of humour which makes everything look easy and effortless.

Yes. You are as old as you want to be, not necessarily as old as someone tells you you are. A few years ago I met an elder lady in a Kroger in Columbus Ohio. She was in her late 70's/early 80's, I'm not sure which now. She told me of her husband dying, the depression that followed and learning to sky dive. I'm going to do it. I've done almost everything else. What an inspiration she was. Now I'm trying to be that for younger ladies. Peace and love y'all.

Brilliant. I feel this has more heart and depth than your usual numbers. I’ve been watching reaction and reaction compilation videos on KZbin of young people (I’d say mostly in their twenties) discovering the great musical artists and songs of the past, like The Eagles (Hotel California), Queen (Bohemian Rhapsody), Moody Blues (Nights in White Satin), Pink Floyd, The Who (Pinball Wizard)…and appreciating the music that we grew up with. I think now they know why we boomers say we had the best music (and why we’re not impressed with today’s sound).

@krisushi1 Completely agree! At times it feels like "having fun" is something that is seen as taboo for adults, let alone seniors 🥴 But making the most of every moment is a great message at any age, and laughter keeps us sane!
@krisushi1 Жыл бұрын
@@anna_in_aotearoa3166 It's as if enjoying ourselves is somehow viewed as being self-indulgent. In my opinion, it's far from it. What's the point of life if we can't have any fun or fulfillment? I couldn't think of anything more boring. Laughter fills our body with naturally occurring endorphins, so it was something we were meant to do. Laughter connects us with others around the globe and I wouldn't want to imagine a world without it. It never bothers me what others may think, so I do as I please. I've been through some great trials in my life, as well as every single day being a battle. Yet, I plan to make each and every day count in which ever manner I see fit. I've deserved it and I gather you have as well. More than at any time, this world most definitely needs laughter and people of all ages should continue to laugh without any thought of being selfish. It's a natural thing for us to do. If I couldn't still laugh after all that I've been through, I'd be a terrible mess. It's laughter that helps us to recover from all types of devastating events. I totally agree that making the most of every moment is not only a great message but essential to our survival.🥳🤣😂😅😆😃😁😀🙂💖

@@krisushi1Love your philosophy!! 🥰 If our humour & fun isn't at anyone else's expense, then I say go for it and don't let any rigidity in social expectations hold you back! Wish you all the best as you continue to pursue a positive path through life 😊

@ Thanks! One of my many wigs I have had actually for decades. I used to have a lot more but I did actually end up getting rid of about half of them at some point about a decade ago because they just didn't survive well through the ages. Back when I was in college and before if I wasn't changing the hair color or cut of my hair I was wearing wigs and sometimes I would wear hats. I would even go dancing out all night in wigs. A few years ago I went to a back to the 80s type all night dance event and I wore a different one of my wigs. How did I survive dancing all night and those things?? I mean I'm about died of heat stroke!:-P

I'm exactly the same - it really is liberating.

Just saw this and THANKS! It made my week - I was getting depressed about my upcoming birthday (63rd), but your song reminds me I'm doing just fine as is.

"Don't put Baby in the corner"! I saw "Dirty Dancing" when it first came out. Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze (sp?) made a great dancing couple! I'm 62 years old with a rare, degenerate, and incurable disease. I'm doing well with medication and a great neurologist. I've tried Irish step dancing at the Irish Festival in Dublin, Ohio using my wheelchair. I don't have to use a wheelchair unless I go to large events. I know that there are wheelchair dance groups. I probably have commented too long. I'm subscribed to your channel and look forward to your parodies.
