I really like this story! It feels very genuine to the actual series with an added theme that is more mature than other kids shows. It is very true that many railway employees smoked and I think many people even on the fandom forget that.

We need more mature themes in kids shows. I dont approve of whitewashing the world to kids to "preserve innocence." It just encourages immaturity and allows adults to regress into their own vices.

@@neonfroot I agree with most of that. I think there are some topics that are better left to explain to children when they are older in youth, such as pre-teen years, but at the same time some will be too obvious to hide or sugar-coat from them. Smoking, drugs and drinking are such.

@@lukechristmas3951 I think innocence is fine, if not necessary for toddlers, but for those above age five, innocence is a slippery slope into arrested development. America is especially very intolerant of worldly exposure towards youth, which results in helicopter parenting, which results in social defection. Nowadays, the societal expectations of the young has dropped. The initiation of adulthood now occurs later in life.

This is an interesting episode here. Not only it takes place between Trouble in the Sheds and Percy Runs Away, but I never seen Cigarettes be brought up in Thomas and Friends (and maybe the RWS). I think it's because usually this series is made for kids of course. Anyways a nice story here for the start of the new year. Keep up the great work and have a happy New Year!
