This is such a fantastic song. Very heartfelt and you can actually hear the emotion and pain that is felt in the lyrics. It's gotta be tough to be out on the road for months on end. This album is going to be showcasing some talent and once again a very different side of Dirty Heads and it will be like hearing them for the first time all over again like every album. I guess that's why they are my favorite band ♡

On the road is one thing, being in a different country is another. Usually people that work at oil rigs and stuff move with their family and agree on the choice, where as, yes musicians make tons of money, but they go to places they don't necessarily want to go to, not because they don't like it, but because it's far from their family, cause it's really inefficient to fly your family around/drive them around every week/day depending on the concert schedule. Like one of my other favourite artists Sonreal put in one of his songs(Everything I Am) "I'm trying to tell you what's right, but caught up in something wrong, I'm killing it where I'm at, but not living it where I want"

This song is so wonderful because of the intense emotion. Even if you are not a traveling artist like they are, you can still relate to the song. When you are away from those who love you because of military, college, job or just because of where life has brought you, you understand the homesickness in their voices. Even when life is great, you miss them. They are happy for you, but they miss you too. Its hard to capture this essence without sounding dumb or weak and this song does this beautifully.

I love DH for their ability to make me feel whatever emotion they are trying to portray in their songs. Their bangers get me hyped, their laid back songs make me feel chill, and songs like this make me feel reflective.
