this wasnt bad, I just really miss their old style. this feels much more like something you'd see on a "lofi hiphop beats" playlist, as opposed to their amazing records (like bitte orca, mount whittenberg orca, swing lo magellan, rise above) this is just so mediocre and it really upsets me.

I don’t think it’s fair to call something less experimental mediocre. Although I agree it’s much more laid back and less innovative than their previous records and probably will be one of their most accessible or straightforward ones. I listened to the self titled but not lamp lit prose. It seems like he’s leaning into the RnB stuff he was into on the self titled but also pulling from a lot of acoustic sounds. I’m also no expert on them and I’m sure you’ve listened to way more than me lol. I think I’ve listened to everything past bitte orca. In any instance, it is less exciting at least, and I feel for you because there’s no one out there that sounds like them. :/ I’d be upset too lol. Idk what this is at this point because now I’m agreeing with you. I am just very high. Okay ta ta for now. I used to work in a lavender farm. We weeded the fields by hand all summer. The place closed shortly after. Really sad. The owner always told us about how when she had moved here people came from all over the country to see her lavender fields and stuff. She’s well off though. Her husband made some kind of patented cleaning material or something.

Its fine if you don't like this but Longstreth has always had slower/chiller songs on virtually every record, and I appreciate the release of tension these tracks provide on their LPs/EPs. Also I'm sorry but calling this lofi hiphop is just...wrong.
