Take advantage of any good weather, drag everything out & start again. I did this at the beginning of lockdown & it’s almost due again, but it took me about 8 days (when initially I’d expected it to take 3), but that feeling when you’re done & you’ve got a clean, clear & well organised work space is great.

try and make worktops and maybe a few strategically placed shelves the same height as it makes working with longer lengths of metal and wood easier if you can balance the ends on various things and know they are level. Also if you can put your chop saw on a movable unit that's a bit shorter so that the chop saw surface is level with the worktops and shelves it makes life easier.

Make the roof of the dirt box strong enough to store some shit that you don't need often up there
@adam-qf2vz Жыл бұрын
Yes Like those compressors.....all the stuff that doesnt need to be at low level should be put up. Also I would make use of those trusses and build a storage rack up there for lengths of metal and timber. On a smaller scale I did this in my workshop..... compressors and storage up in the trusses and the floor where I can everything is on wheels so it can be moved. I also built a small welding table with a 5 foot by 3 foot top which is on wheels so I can put it in the middle of the room and use it for other stuff.

Seems like the plaster board could use some cross braces and/or vertical studs, eh? In N.A. I believe building code is to have vertical studs 16" apart for drywall panels....though that is overkill for your situation...something more would be beneficial as Having it held only along edges means poor support when something leans against it.

Looking all good Matt. How spooky! Just last weekend I made a wood top like you're going to do on the lift. I'm wondering if when they do the roof there might be some H&S legislation regarding ventilation required either in the roof or the walls. If so, it might be worth discussing with the landlord for mutual benefit.
@alanrichardson1672 Жыл бұрын
How the hell a landlord can rent a building with absolutely zero ventilation is beyond me. What does he expect you do for air - leave the door open! What you going to do with no crapper - you'll be so full of shit, wind and piss! 😂😂😂

What are you talking about zero ventilation?
