Harold Mabern On Piano......No words! ........Ok, his comping, his voicing, his chords, his motion, his command, his majesty, his quotes, his soloing, his spirit, his history, his peaks and troughs, his command, his maturity! ♥♥♥

I saw Eric Alexander many years ago at the Pine Grill Jazz Festival in Buffalo, NY and WOW! I knew he’d be around along time all the while playing better and smoother and better. Several years later I saw him at Smokes. Excellent!

I love Eric Alexander's tone! However, let's just say that, if if weren't for the greatest saxophonist that ever lived, John William Coltrane, Eric wouldn't have this tone of his! He even 'sneaks' in some Coltrane lines:)

Eric is the president. Harold is the father of the president. Eric is a consumate sax alive. From far Washington state to the east coast Eric traveled with a vengeance this east-west rivalry. It seems like that but I kind made it up. I know all this cats from Ougis days to smoke. They have paid their dues. Great jazz rip Mabern. Very good recording. His solo takes me far to heaven. Bravissimi. Now in DC. I miss you guys.

Love the playing. Not a fan of the reverb on the sax though. Puts it in different space than the rest of the band. Very Contrane-ish and gorgeous tone.

Why can't modern jazz artists a ballad at thru the whole damn song? He should take a clue from the classic tenors like Ben Webster.
