YSL’s Yak Gotti went in to federal prison 4+ years ago as a part-time rapper but ended up blowing up while inside thanks to his features on Young Thug’s “Pull Up On A Kid” & “Slime Shit”. And since he was released from prison last week, he is now fully focused on his music career and stopped by the DGB headquarters for an exclusive “Off The Porch” interview, his first interview since coming home!
During our conversation, Yak Gotti discussed being released prison last week, reveals what was the first thing he did when he got out, explains how he kept his spirits up while locked up for 4 1/2 years, reveals he is on probation for 3 more years, talks about how quickly things are moving for him since he’s been out, the love & support he has received, recording his “First Day Out” record, reveals he has already has 40+ new songs including some with Young Thug, Metro Boomin, Turbo The Great, Southside & Wheezy, his music blowing up while in prison, says his first project will be entitled “Life Of A Maniac”, talks about facing a murder charge when he was 18 years old, Young Thug encouraging him to start back rapping in 2013, recording min Birdman’s mansion, “Pull Up On A Kid” being released & blowing up while he was in prison, explains why he feels like he needed to sit down, YSL being one of the hottest labels out right now & jumping right back into the mix, receiving $200k from Young Thug as a welcome home gift, being proud of Young Thug’s recent success, not feeling any pressure to succeed, tells some crazy stories of being on tour with Thug & Travis Scott before he was locked up, reveals Travis Scott was originally on “Pull Up On A Kid”, his goals for 2020 and much more!
