when people question the magnitude of losing a beacon like Dale Sr. they need to watch this episode. i know im stating the obvious to most but there are still some that dont get it. watch these fine young men discuss the trials & tribulations of their careers, their personal inter-relationship difficulties of the past, squabble1s amongs teams, etc and so much more. if we dont lose Dale Sr in '01?.. these fellows tell a story thats 180 degrees from the ones they're telling now. its a testament to their characters & integrity that they've been able to see the importance of family type friendships & commitments to each other.. kudos to all of you, and thanks for sharing your lives & history with all of us.

I was so hoping Mike was back! This hasn't been as good since he left & all the changes made. I rarely watch it now with the new people on here. Dale needs to go back to how it used to be! This was the best one in a very long time, even if it is a throwback!!

I hated Mike. I was wrong. New kids think they are part of the show, not just the producers.
@Nighthawk2685 сағат бұрын
Yeah I can't stand the new kids on the show. One in particular tries way too hard to be noticed, and talks way too much for someone nobody even knows who they are. A bunch of guys and gals who have lived those years talking about their experiences is what made the podcast shine IMO. To be honest I have a harder time relating to the new age NASCAR fans as well.

To be fair, Dale is the only Dale Earnhardt left alive, Dale just aint got it in his head yet. This is the lesson Theresa desperately needed to learn, DEI doesn't survive without a Dale Earnhardt walking into that shop and Dale senior has been dead for 23 years. That shop is just sitting there, dark, with the black #3 car sitting in the front lobby. Will Taylor and Dale Jr take the hint, god only knows.

Interesting tidbits here - we all knew Dale had his struggles after going to Hendricks but it seems like Tony was the only one who realized how messed up things were for him. It was hard to follow all the goings on they talked about in the last few years of DEI and the first years at Hendrick. Also, did I hear things correctly that the beginning of Jr Motorsports had 4 owners: Hendrick, Jr., Kelley and Tony Jr.? That’s the first I heard of that. Is Hendrick still involved?
@chrishamilton62417 сағат бұрын
Jr, I was watching the show with Kenny Schrader, you had made a comment about loving to have one of Ralph's cars, I met Billy Biscoe many years ago and he owns the #8 Go or Blow car, at least he did at that time. It was on American Pickers season 3 episode 13,

Years later, and I still see so much HATE for Teresa on posts and videos all the time. The take by Tony Jr here in this episode, where Dale Jr and Mike just sit there and let him say it and nod in agreement is how I have always felt about it. Teresa loved Dale Sr, and helped create DEI. Was she misguided in letting Jr walk, of course, but I felt she was just trying to keep 51 percent of control, and Dale Jr wanted the same. That 2 percent difference is where it all went wrong. What could have been, but I have no hate for Teresa with everything she went through.
@aaronanderson761919 сағат бұрын
I find it interesting that people dislike or hate someone they’ve never had interaction with. Kinda like guys fighting over someone disparaging “their” pro sports team. They don’t pay for it, have no say or control, but will get all twisted up like it matters. Strokes for folks I suppose. Hope the coming week finds you well and blessed

Never thought I would miss Mike, but the new group of kids is completely disconnected from what made the show great.
@crowley296 сағат бұрын
I like what tony jr said about Theresa thinking she could survive without dale jr and it quickly backfired on her she needed dale jr for that team to survive and also for dale Jr's side of things I believe the issue with JR not having more success at hendrick was DEI was a hands on hard working family where as I don't think that kind of work ethics blended well with an organization that was technologically based with hendrick and like what tony jr said he was "just getting comfortable" at hendrick when the concussions started and if that didn't happen or to be honest if steve didn't retire I think more wins was coming
