Disable Honda Odyssey ECO mode with S-VCM

How to install an S-VCM module on a 2016 Honda Odyssey to keep the ECO mode from kicking in and potentially causing damage to various engine/drivetrain parts. (With apologies for the rolled American flag at the beginning-- no disrespect intended.)

Thanks for this. I just added this VCM muzzler to my 2017, which has been in for misfires/foule plugs 3X this year after no prior problems (125K miles). I'm hoping this this will prevent future issues. I'll add that while the connecters themselves are easy, it's a tight space to get the proper grip to depress the little latch on the connecter and pull straight up. I had some trouble, but I knew it should be easy, so I repositioned a couple of times and got it.

Hi, has anyone experienced battery drain after installing this? I've read on some forums that it might happen because it constantly draws power from the battery. I'm wondering if the other version, which doesn't connect to the battery, might be better? I'm planning to put one on my 2025 Ridgeline. Thanks!

no power drain noticed, but don’t tell the dealership about it as it might void the warranty on the engine. If you have to bring it in then just remove it , it literally takes 5 minutes to remove. I have it on my ‘24 ridgeline. Gas mileage 20 to 22 mpg combined depending on how you drive. Off topic you can put bigger tires 265/60R18 on ridgeline.

@@Radwinskee No lights or codes on the ECM. The honda has 2 coolant temp sensors, 1 on the manifold and 1 either on the radiator or near the thermostat. So the ECM does see the temp in of overheat. Also the S-VCM claims to monitor the temp and if it gets too hot will shut itself off and alert you of an overheat. FYI , Their free maint plan is absolute garbage with oil changes at 10k miles. I'm opting to do oil changes at 4k to 5k.

Thanks, decided on the VCM2 after this video, slightly different unit and made in USA and is top notch tech and us EPA cert. Meet the inventor actually. Cool dude. Runs like a dream, no more ECO madness.
