Bali is being choked by the fumes emitted from burning plastic. Why? What of the health hazards?
I asked the experts, talked with the locals, and went to the local landfills to find A Deeper Understanding of burning plastic and the hazards of doing so.

Dear god! When you complain your life sucks & your job is bad, just take a look at those poor people working in the landfill ... then STFU !! Coming to Bali in September, for a month ... anything I can do to help while I'm there?

Bring a re-usable water bottle from home! Most restaurants and all of your hotels will fill it up for you. Bring a tote bag to put all of your locally purchased items in, because so many of those stores and stands use plastic. Of course, no plastic straws. You can buy really unique bamboo ones here! These things help when you calculate how many water bottles and bags one person uses on vacation. If you want to donate to an organization, R.O.L.E. is working from the bottom up and has been for years to educate children and the local counsels. If you want to physically do something while you're here, beach clean up's happen every day by the clubs and restaurants and they can be really fun. And overall please don't be afraid to talk about the trash you see and the burnings taking place. Help get people talking. Bali is STUNNING and everyone knows it. It won't be for long if we don't talk about the other side of things. Thank you Charles! I used your comment to write it all out in case anyone else wanted to know ;) Thank you for asking.

@@ZiggleFingersGreat advice, yes! We believe that if enough people ask for their bottles refilled more people would have filter stations. Don't y'all think? Though, hotels will always re-fill if you are their customer.

@@TRACINGTHOUGHT ... Salamat pagi Ashlei & Tyler ... Thank you for your reply. I will be based in Canggu for the month & already have the beach cleaning thing on my list of 'things to do'. However, I'm not a touristy-type person so immersing myself in the culture & helping out where I can will be my main aim. Take good care of yourselves & you never know, I paths might cross when I'm out there. :-)

Very interesting thought! In so many countries you wouldn't even be allowed inside the local landfill. But I believe everyone needs to see this at least once in their life.

This footage is unbelievable. Wow. I really appreciate that we can't just complain about the problem, but we have to come up with practical solutions in order to make change

Amazing it's been 3 years and now it's the same or worst... Only 2k views... I wish local people would see this... They are totally unaware of the damage produced when burning plastic

Maggy Lares I’m glad I could get a little deeper on this topic. I love how innovative people are being with plastic. It’s really great! There’s just too much of it though.

The technology already exists. Until plastics are outlawed the best solution is to burn the waste in garbage power generators. This not only gets rid of the plastics and other trash but produces cheap power for the community. The waste is burnt at much higher temperatures and is therefore much cleaner and efficient than burning the waste say at regular atmospheric conditions.

Wow this footage is insane. The world really needs to focus on a solution for trash pollution. I agree an over-the-counter buy back system could help. I’m sure there are a ton of good ideas out there - just like these! Thanks for getting these ideas out there

So many ideas, some progress. But some progress is better than no progress! The single-use plastic ban on Bali should be in effect by June, I believe. We'll see the difference if the government follows through! Crossing fingers.

Is it really the people of Bali burning that trash? Did you ask "where are you come from?" Are they newcomers? The way they speak didn't like balinese. I think they are labor force from somewhere else. If you know where are they come from, please reply my comment. For my small personal research. :). It will be interesting information for you too. (sorry for my english)
