@@kaiserfakinaway5909 It depends, that’s why I asked if they were in China. These aren’t global models, and use the Chinese OS. I have an X Note, and it’s great. It does have weird software issues though, mostly from using the phone in an area where it is not intended. So most software issues are probably from using it where Vivo didn’t intend it to be used.

4k 120fps are a welcome improvement. The rest seems like it needs some improvements still. Missing the day0 patch probably. Just like in games :/ High expectations that the X100 Ultra cannot really fullfill. Btw. the X100 Pro got a new update just a few days ago improving video stabilization. Bringing it on the same level as the Ultra.

Same thing happened when 14 ultra release now after update 14 ultra is completely Anhilates anything in terms of details sharp and color... It will took time for 100ultra to be in that level... This year my preference was 14 ultra and bought it... Best ever till date

Really didnt expect it to perform worse than X100 pro on some occasions. The gimbal video stabilization on 100 ultra is leaps ahead of anything right now. Just on another level. That omnivision telephoto sensor on the X100 pro is way better than the Samsung 200mp on the Ultra. I dont know if software polishing will make it better or even close. I hope they stick with Omnivision for their next flagship

The reviewers who get their samples a week or a month earlier, have a beta software version and check for bugs and give some last feedback. So this beta becomes final launch software version.

First reviews from Weibo shows a phone which is not superior to X100 pro. The "whaou" effect which we all get with the X100 pro is not here. In France, if you want to import, the begining price is 1150€ for the 256g version. The gap is insane with a X100 pro. I really don't understand this trend of people who believe this will be corrected with firmware updates. What would be the use of the company to release a phone and demo it with a firmware which is not ready for pictures, when they have, under hand, the skills with the X100 pro ? Unfortunately, the X100 Ultra is not THE device which we all expected and probably only a marketing move to boost sales.

Funny enough the non portrait shots of the 14 ultra looked actually better than the vivo shots. I was initially wondering exactly why the exposure of the sign in the shots seemed over exposed compared to the vivo. And then came the portrait shots where for some unique reason xiaomi over exposed where as vivo increased the contrast look. Had you removed the watermark I would've thought the xiaomi was the vivo and vice versa because the vivo tends to brighten up images both out of camera and during the edit. The zoom shots were a surprise because xiaomi I think beat vivo at this stage because of the amount of detail and just how sharp and well colored the images were. Vivo had a bit of focus issues from my eyes which again given what vivo has shared on social media is a huge shock. Finally the video I prefer the xiaomi in a few conditions. And I think the vivo can improve a lot with iterative updates. I initially thought given the sharing on social media vivo would be the king but now it's really a toss up. You can't go wrong with xiaomi vivo or oppo in their respective ultra devices.

For me, anything above 12 mp is not really needed. Maybe you can to 20/21 mp but really no need. You can make humongous print with 8 to 20 mp camera.

The image quality of the ultra is excellent. However, the sound quality is disappointing, sounding compressed. I can't say the sound is realistic due to the narrow dynamic range, but it might be hard to hear the wind noise. I am glad to confirm that. Thank you very much.

I think that, as always, there is a huge amount of hype and then you hit rock bottom. 200MP hasn't looked extremely good on any smartphone yet, everything that goes over 20x zoom is an oil painting on smartphones anyway and is then massively "improved" with AI, but is that still the actual photo if the AI ultimately decides on the end product and not the photographer?

Oppo was better here. You just didn't zoom OPPO's to what the vivo was zoomed. You can clearly see Vivo was not that stable and was loosing colours easily. 15:35

Whats going on with the 85-100mm sessions when its x100 Ultra vs Pro? Is it because of that beauty filter? and/or Blue image. The quality on the ultra is extremely ugly. Even against Xiaomi 14 Ultra. Something about going from Pro to Ultra just makes it ugly. I loved the Xiaomi 13 pro. Then when they went to ultra and 14, beyond taking out that sensor I believe. Just horrible choice.
