I really wasn't mad at the Mane Choice about not participating in Black Friday. They did do really good sales all year and black Friday is over hyped. I definitely agree about the decline in the natural hair movement. I think most naturals get it at this point. I love watching product reviews and even trying new products but all the releases and such take away the "magic" of it. At this point, it doesn't always feel about quality but about making our money.

I’m here for Flav! 🙋🏾♀️ I feel that you don’t get enough recognition from brands. Many of my holy grail products are M.A.D. CURLS recommendations. So, I can understand why you want to stop the free advertising. Now back to the products. I have to agree that the Mane Choice went overboard. That Exotic Cool laid gel was busted, but I really love the Cheers gelato. I was very disappointed by the Camille Rose lavender line, except the shampoo and the refresher spray, which I love. Thanks for always keeping it real. This video was awesome! 😊

I agree with your sentiments! I've been a certifiable product junkie for 4 years and I'm finally breaking free!😄 I'm happy to have so many choices, but now I feel we're being preyed upon. The main reason I feel that way is because as soon as these brands start to really grow, they COMPLETELY change their formulations. They use inferior ingredients and continue to charge the same prices, doing so many times under the guise of "We just changed our packaging". Lies... The lack of integrity in this industry is disheartening. But, thank you for your great content! I'll be watching. 😘

Disappointing products of 2019 is naturally United curls didn’t like the cake batter or the gel honestly but I love the oil. Mielle moisture RX gel was terrible and drying on my hair. I dislike the Camille rose lavender collection as well but love the spray and shampoo. I dislike unfortunately the Soultanicals can’t believe it’s knot honey it was forming and very sticky smh. I also dislike natures little secret banana leave in, flaxseed gel, avocado cream only love the deep conditioners and shampoos and chocolate conditioner. Next year I’m only focusing on the brands I like and works for me. No more testing different brands. I know what works for me and I’m sticking to it. God bless the both of you 😊. Happy holidays

Agreed. Of all the lines that I tried, I liked them all. But none of them were "Wow" to me. It's a good brand, but I dont think the products are worth the price for being "just good". I bought their Tropical Moringa line recently and really hope I will like it. I'm also looking to try their Cheers Gelato because QuinnRae raves about it, but I honestly have no high expectations. Their pills work really well though.

Yes and I love the Ancient Egyptian Twisting Gel .. but it makes me skeptical when a company is dropping line after line of the sameeee products just different variations of ingredients. Mane choice is great but it became too overwhelming to know what to purchase from them.

I couldn’t agree more... when I stuck to one line consistently my hair was extremely healthy, thick and very long... it wasn’t until I started with heat too often and then trying a million different products that my hair started acting up.
@ECANADA75 жыл бұрын
I must definitely agree with you about the MC and the multiple new lines this year. I first used their original line and then Ancient Egyptian when staring my journey and nothing else for years and my hair was super healthy. They didn’t need to come out with so much and it did take away the exclusivity as you said. I do love the Cheers line more for the ingredients then anything. I was reaching for the shampoo and conditioner the most and the gel for protective styles more than wash n gos. I do feel they can improve the gel as for as the stickiness for a more successful and long lasting wash n go. I loved it because (I believe) the hops ingredient halted my shedding immediately and as long as I was using it weekly, I had practically NO shedding... extremely minimal shedding after detangling. I think it has great potential for wash n gos if they can possibly eliminate the sticky feel improving the gel performance. I have definitely been leaning a lot more toward simplicity... it was fun experimenting but I’m tired lol... I’ve narrowed it down to CurlSmith(all), NLS (all), Soultanicals dc and cowashes and Mielle’s Rosemary and Hawaiian Rx stylers as my top favs... my hair reacts best to those.

This is why I typically buy hair products that I want to try or haven’t used before at Marshall’s, TJ Maxx, Burlington and Ross! This way I get them on clearance or discounted. And if I end up liking them then I’ll buy them again. If I don’t like them then I’m thankful I didn’t spend too much and I’ll give the products away to my clients. The Marshall’s in my area had SOO many Mane Choice products on clearance that I was able to get them for like 25-50% off! I’m a bargain shopper to the max lol 😊

Happy New Year ladies! I am new to your channel and I think in this one video you gave us WAY MORE than a year's worth of useful information. I think this may only be the 3rd or 4th video I have watched and this one was the best one yet. It was actually confirmation for me. I am in the process of re-entering the loos natural world after nearly 15 years of being loc'd. I am currently in week 6 of the loc take down process. I started my loose natural journey after many years of creamy crack use in 1988, relapsed lol in 1992, then became creamy crack free in 1994. Loose natural from 1994-2005. There was little to no "natural" hair care products outside of pomades and some oils if you knew where to go, and when I loc'd in 2005 Miss Jessie's was Curve and their Curly Pudding was only available in salon and didn't yet have a label on the jar lol, and Carol's Daughter was the only other option. Thankfully I live in NYC so I had easy access to both. So long story short, while your followers appreciate all that you have done and will continue to do (myself included), my take home message and confirmation for me was what you said about pretty much leaving your hair alone and admitting that all of the manipulation was not best for the health of your hair. My hair is it's healthiest the less I do to it. The amount of 'product' out here is OVERWHELMING, and while I am thrilled many people of color are at the top of this market, frankly I think it is too much. So the other thing you said which I support wholeheartedly is that you mentioned that some of this is really all about the business/money grabbing aspect. I personally don't appreciate brands for which I need to purchase an entire line for it to "work" right. Anyway I've said more than enough. Just wanted to let you know I'm glad I stumbled across your videos and I look forward to seeing what your 2020 will look like.

Eden Bodyworks Jojoba Monai deep conditioner is my holy grail! My hair is 4a/3c though, maybe that's why you didn't like it. But it was the only deep conditioner that detangles my hair with ease. I was buying it 3 at a time and the ingredients are bomb.

I totally get it about slowing down on using product after product. I have fine but curly hair and quite a bit of it and I cannot just put anything in it, esp'ly when wearing my hair curly ... it will break off like nobody's business. That's one of the reasons I go between straight and curly (cannot stand to see too much breakage and too much protein is just too much for my hair). I think i like Lori, moreso on the dry look for more softness/fluffiness. I can literally just rinse out my condition, twist it up and like the results from that, i get the fluff, the softness/fullness! I'm cool with that, maybe a little product. Wishing you a Merry Christmas!!

The Mane Choice went crazy in 2019....my favorite lines are still the original, moringna and heavenly halo. The Alikay lemon grass gel was terrible....I had to wash that out of my hair the same day I put it in. You know I am a Camille Rose fan, but I agree, I did not like the lavender line. I gave my lavender line away too. I too was not crazy about the Eden Bodyworks Jojoba/Monoi DC, I gave that away too. I am very discriminate now with my coins when purchasing hair products. Whatever your channel becomes, I will be there with you......happy New Year MadCurls.

I also decluttered 2 bags worth of unused products and one time use products and gave those to shelters.

The Cantu cream SUCKS!! it didn’t do anything for my hair either 😫 and made it worst! Thank you for this video, I think that before buying new products, I will use what I have and wait for your 2020 worst products video 🤗

I’m a new subscriber. However, I feel the same way about brands and over saturation of lines. I had an over abundance of products about 3 years ago and then I got diagnosed with breast cancer. I’m cancer free now but I lost ever strand of hair 2 weeks after my 1st Chemo treatment. So I gave boxes & boxes of products away. Now I only use what worked as my hair grew back. I’m grateful for every strand who returned to the scene of the crime 😂😂😂 Simplicity is now my mantra. But I’m watching for a new shampoo & co wash.

Merry Christmas ladies 🎄. Thanks for the video. The curlsmith scalp line didn't help my dry scalp as much as I had hoped. #yallgongetthistree

The Mane Choice company was sold this year so maybe that’s why so many lines came out

And formulas most likely changed. The beer collection no longer works for me and it was my go to with that brand.

Yes to this video ladies..... I totally agree I'm over all these new lines every other week dropping... TMC was doing the most in 2019 and Black Friday didn't collect not one coin from me... 😁😁😝 I'm over whelmed with all the stuff I have already used and new... I just couldn't justify buying more products... Well I did get the Adowa box from curlbox but that was it... I always wanted to try that line... 🤗🤗😉 I'm with you ladies.... 2020 is the year of consistency... Growth and healthy hair.... now I need to unsubscribe to all these hair companies 😁😂😂😂✌🏿

Yeah I was kinda salty about mane choice not doing a Black Friday sale, they did advertise certain stores that carry mane choice who were having general sales, Walgreens and Walmart, & Sally’s, which I ordered a slew of mane choice products from only to have my order completely cancelled😫. I must’ve checked the mane choice website 50x over the Black Friday/cyber Monday weekend; total madness😩 but I haven’t given up, I need the tropical moringa and eygyotian lines and I determined, just can afford it full price, so I’ll be on the look out for the next great sale😆

TaylorAnne - I'm an OG. I feel your pain on African Pride. It's an old brand. That stuff tore my scalp and face up back in the day.

The not your mother’s curl talk 3 in 1 conditioner was a COMPLETE fail for me. I used it as a cowash & that thang left my hair so frizzy & tangled. It was a mess. GIRL... I was so mad. Never again will I be trying a NYM’s product 🙅🏽♀️. All natural & curly girl friendly my behind 😂😂😂

I find it ironic that you guys mentioned the scent of the MoKnowsHair collection considering I believe fragrance is the fifth ingredient

My biggest flop product fo 2019 was the Uncle Funky’s Daughter Curly Magic. It was a great imposter for me because it felt so good on the hand and applied so smoothly! My hair had a nice shine and springy could as long as it was dry! But it dried my hair out progressively each day I had it in my hair:-( When I saw that TA used it as a one and done, I was convinced I would like it! NOPE! Used it alone & with a LIC and got the same results! It didn’t work for my hair. I am mostly 4a with 3b at the nape and 3c in my crown area. This made me appreciate my tried and trues and I ran back to my CR Curl Maker!!!

Merry Christmas! I love that some brands had crossover from favorite and worst products. It really shows that everything doesn't work for everybody. It's too bad you don't have the Lemongrass Twist Cream to try again now that you do braid outs Taylor Ann. It gives me a super stretched and moisturized style. #You'regonnagetthistree. 😉

I assumed TMC opted out of BF because of the sell of the business. That Canadian company does not care about BF lol NUC boasted on FB recently about how amazing they are at resending packages that had issues lol

My disappointing products of 2019 is TMC braid out glaze...too thick, and tangled my hair something awful doing application. African Pride curl cream, and Taliah Waajid curly curl cream...both Fails. So I totally agree with sticking to your tried and true for 2020. SM curl smoothie and Kinky curly custard or UFD curly magic are my staple wash and go combos. #yallgogetthistree

I truly hate bad customer service. I won't be buying that 1st product because of the customer service
