@galnaboulsi31246 жыл бұрын
To those wondering what to lube the cooling fan axel with, you need a high intensity friction oil, like sewing machine oil. Do not use stuff like WD40 etc

I needed to put more RAM in the HP. I did not need to take the bottom screw off. I used a tough nylon little pry tool while pushing the battery unlocking slide to the left. It let me take the back off to install extra RAM or put in a solid state hard drive.

Uhm... I have a question. My laptop is very similar to yours (mine is a 6159sl) and i cleaned it thanks to your video. The question is: where thef**k the air come from??? I mean I always tought that of the two holes of the fan on the exterior, one were the income and one were the outcome but now I saw that the fan has two "exits" to dissipate the heat, and.. Where does it takes the cold air? Is closed upwards and underwards!
@neilolif7 жыл бұрын
The air intake is in the back, under the speaker bar just beneath the "INTERNET" home button.., You'll figure it out once you rip the whole thing down.

THE MUSIC IS ANNOYING! Next, i assume you took this apart because, well it was noisy and the temps where high. There was not enough dust on that fan to warrant opening this thing up to clean. WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE was remove the the old goop from the CPU block and graphics block and reapplied it. Second then you should have cleaned the fan. I doubt that doing just the fan did anything.
@Web2beFree6 жыл бұрын

The heatsink is really small.
@walidelhed81956 жыл бұрын
True ... since the first day i bought it brand new in 2011 it never stopped overheating even on very light applications use. The cooling fan is most of the time running at full speed and sounds awful. This HP model design was really a big failure. One week ago, i bought a new Lenovo ideapad 520 which is a piece of art compared to my old laptop and is working great. HP should put more effort on designing an efficient heat sink for all their laptops because the overheating was a common issue on all their laptops. I don't know if this is still persistent actually on new HP laptops. Have an idea?
@PirateKing12566 жыл бұрын
Walid El Hed No idea. I brought this second hand and I'm shocked to see it shooting 100degree on CPU and 90 on GPU. Unacceptable. You can make it work by using a vacum cooler. Cooling pad. Clean out fan. Replace thermal paste. Use in aircon. It's bad

Wearing a metal watch bracelet is not very good for your health. The meridians on that hand will be shortcircuited. I had to find that out from an acupuncturist myself, a while back. I also didn't find the music very conducive to having a good experience: it reeks of old times, dusty, facetious town life like in some 20' films and it makes me cringe. Yuk! So I had to turn my sound off. Otherwise, thanks for the video. Liked and subbed.

Too much work for nothing. During disassembly should be checked or reapplied the thermoconductive layer between the cooler and CPU and check if there is not any dust in the tubing. Plus the fan was not even dirty to affect anything. I have this computer model since 2012 and since then it was never in the repair nor cleaned. It is not overheating and works just fine. Of course I dont use it for gaming or such stuff.
