This was SO USEFUL!!!! Very grateful to you! Mine is running rough esp on higher speeds, making a horrible sound. I had no option but take it apart and your guided tour of the innards made it so much easier. What a blessing to have people like you on KZbin! Excellent video, many thanks!!! 🙏😊

Yep another blue wire mystery viewer thanks - Paid extra for a Dremel instead of a cheap Chinese knock off , but was surprised how crude it is inside a Dremel and how easily it fills up with dust.

Thank you! I watched your video several times before proceeding last night with replacing my speed controler on my 4000. I think I am still having an issue with my brushes. I get a little sputtering. I got 12 years of uses before this repair. A lot longer than I did with the previous 395 Multipro. Thanks again!

Not sure what exactly was wrong with my Dremel 4000, but I followed your instructions and it's running again. Thank you!

It was the golden notch with the blue wire jumping out of its seat. It must be the only dormant defective if you drop it!

My issue was rough rotation. In my case springs made bad connection to the wires. Thanks to you I started digging in that direction!

The shaft clutch jammed open on mine. I attempted to repair it, and learned one thing during the process: NEVER buy another Dremel product. I was able to easily take these apart in years past, but this thing was on another level. Getting everything aligned to put the clamshell back together was an exercise in futility. Considering the premium pricing that Dremel commands, I find that unacceptable.

Bro it really isn’t that hard. You probably had the wires routed incorrectly or something
@jimjones16527 ай бұрын
Thanks it helped when taking mine apart, I not sure what the actual problem was. It may have been a little blue or black wire that had come out of the motor connector but they're all so loose it could have been any of them, very poor design. Assembly was much harder for me, that red wire is always getting in the way. I'm sure it's beeing pinched even now but I have no room for it to go anywhere else. Also mine is a little different the brush retainers don't screw in and are held captive by the case.

This has been a very useful video more than once. But I have a new issue - the speed regulator wheel no longer controls the speed of the unit, it has limited itself to only one speed no matter where the dial is set. Not sure how to resolve that.

Mine only operates at slow speed unless I press down on the speed select dial. Not sure what the issue is but it’s frustrating

In the back of the rotor axe has bearing covered with some black plastic-rubbery thing. That berring must be pushed down when you tested without the other case cover, so that the ax of the rotor to be centered in stator , so when you test it without the other cover case of the Dremel, the spins will stop touching the inside walls of the stator, because is centered. The other side of the dremel case when you put it back, will push the berring down, and the axe rotor will selfcentered in rotor. Thats why you hear that scrachy noises without the other case part mounted

First of all thank you for making an instructional video and talking explaining the parts. all of the other videos I have watched are silent. I just bought the 4300 I have only had it less than a week and it stopped working not overheated or anything. But when it is on the on position and I press that button in the back that you said holds the spring it turns on. I haven’t taken it apart yet. Should I? Or should I return it? I REALLY need it I can’t work without it. I can’t wait a week for a new one
@erica72684 жыл бұрын
I should have mentioned that my Dremel is only about a week old
@fiveyorks4 жыл бұрын
Erica Mahoney If it is only a week old I would definitely take it back and get another one. Even though that may not be the best design for the switch, it surely should not break in a week so there is probably a flaw in that particular item.

Hey @erica7268 i have the same problem with my 4200 model. I took it apart, cleaned it, reseated the brushes, and fixed the on/off switch so it would press down a bit better. It still only works when i press the lower brush cap by a tiny amount. Did you manage to fix it somehow? @fiveyorks do you have any idea what the solution might be?

Dremels have a lot of problems. Main problem is it's made by Bosch. My Dremel 3000 broke after a couple hours doing light work. Need to clean that commutator while you're in there. The model train guys love fiberglass pencils for this. I have one and it works great for lots of things. Clean the gaps too with a toothpick or similar device.
