It really turned out nice seeing what you were working with. You really knocked this one out of the park. I will follow you young guys today were able to drive these cars when they came out. I was fortunate enough to turn 16 in the 80s and I got to drive the Camaro IROC and I own several mustang GTs. The IROCs just never really ran that good. Despite how much work you've done to that motor you couldn't get that car out of its own way. I think the biggest problem was the weight of the car. Those cars drove like Cadillacs it was a very very smooth ride. Now you get yourself behind a wheel of a mustang GT after 87 you knew you had a muscle car under your ass. Today all you young guys have cars from all different manufacturers that can get up and go. You do have a few people who are brand loyal but it's not the same thing like it was in the beginning of cars. It was always Chevy and Ford sometimes a Dodge but not often in the late '70s and early '80s. Even my dad was big time into car's. Whenever my father would get a chance to pick me up from school all of my friends would come over to my dad's Impala and want him to do a burnout. That was a nasty car. When my mother's car broke down and she had to drive my father's car she was so upset from how fast it was that she felt unsafe driving it. My father had to get one of his friends to drive him to my mother's work to pick up his car. She evening got more mad when my father and his friends fixed her Nova. Somehow they got a big block in there and put thrust mufflers on the car and when you would sit at a red light too long you could almost watch the gas gauge go down. She wasn't happy about it my dad had taken her to the track to teach her how to drive it and she was happy with that. Thank you so much for making this video. You actually took a bad day and made it better. I haven't thought about all this stuff and a lot of years and it feels good to share my story. Sorry it was such a long reply as you can tell I'm passionate about cars. Even to this day all I own are Fords and before my mom and dad passed away all they had were Chevys. My father used to tease me and tell me I only went to Ford to make him mad. I miss him helping me work on my mustang. He crawled under the car when I had to replace my first clutch. I hope if anyone that reads this has the means to save an old car from the bone yard go ahead and do it. It will absolutely change your life.
