Heartbreaking unboxing and review for this green lantern statue. I was kinda generous with the grade tbh. What do you guys think?

In response to critiques regarding the unrealistic muscle placement and elongated body proportions in this piece, I would like to offer an alternative perspective. True! I can agree with that. It's Daniel Bel and he's really known to have a very detailed body sculpt. Very amazing job by him as his previous works. It's just the engineering of the piece that really made a bit of a miss. The pegs were not strong enough to carry that body weight, thus, inevitably breaking. But agree on all your points about the sculpt. It's just the execution and engineering of the actual piece that bothered me a bit.

I am not sure if it's just an isolated case. But I knew from the moment I pegged it in and the material used, I had my doubts already. Didn't even last a day.

can't heroes get in touch with sideshow to have the base replaced? sideshow usually replaces defective parts in the us.

According to heroes, they actually did already and based on their attempt, they said SSC can no longer provide a replacement base. Which was kinda odd because when I asked for a replacement, stocks were still available in the sideshow site. So not really sure what went on with their communications.

Thank you so much. I made a mistake with my grade. Looking at it, I think I was overwhelmed with the look of it and now objectively seeing it, I would give it a 7.5. I think your 7 would be a fair grade for this one.

I know it's a different scale but my Prime 1 Green Lantern blows this out of the water, no contest. A lot is off with this statue. I'm actually not a big Green Lantern fan and only got the Prime 1 to have a chance at completing a justice league line in 1/3rd. Can't have a justice league without Green Lantern. I'd say this SS Lantern is a miss.

At this point, I am convinced that any green lantern from the past, even a bigger scale or smaller scale and from other companies, is better than this one. The more I look at it, the more I regret buying it tbh. Now if it was made well [durable], I might have accepted it and be much more understanding, but with everything that happened, I have to agree with you. This is definitely a miss.

Yup! Those were complaints by a lot of collectors. Nice from afar. But once you look st it in detail, proportion is a bit off.

Typical Sideshow quality. Looking good from afar, good concept, very poor finitions. The Batman Dark Knight was lame as well in terms of finitions. I asked for a refund. Paint was dull, especially the blood, poor application on some areas, the paint was even starting to crack. The lightning had weird marks and the list goes on. Sideshow is a 50-50, sometimes you're lucky, sometimes you're not. I buy them on the secondary market now, at least I can check them first

I totally get you. When you asked for a refund from Sideshow after seeing it, do they always pull through?

Well SSC didn't provide the store here for a replacement base so, it's really unfortunate. The store offered a refund or if I want to have it fixed at their expense, so I guess I have those two options.

@@gradedhq I would get a refund, this statue has too many issues. Light up is useless, HS can't be seen, you see wires through the resin, the way it stands on the base is lame. Sideshow dropped the ball for me on this one
