Disaster triage nursing review about the color tag system and start method for mass casualties.
Disaster triage is used during situations when there is a high volume of wounded individuals that must be grouped or ranked based on their health status to receive care. The reason for disaster triage is to help use treatment resources and personnel wisely so the wounded can be treated.
Disaster triage includes a color-coded tagging system and a popular method called the START method.
The color-coded tagging system includes four colors: red, yellow, green, and black. The START method stands for "simple triage and rapid treatment" and is used to quickly assess the wounded individual’s breathing, circulation, and neuro status (specifically mental status).

I face for oman nursing viva exam as a sir Lankan ems nurse yesterday. My first viva question was regarding triage. I watch your videos mam. With your explanation about triage, I answered exactly as you explained. They said "Oh you are a good practical nurse. You just explained the answer as we wanted. That is very clear and interesting." Do you know mam? Since that answer, they were very interested in the answers that I gave. I knew that I'm getting selected. From the 1st question I answered. They got many questions for me. about 35 minutes I had viva with them. All of your videos helped me to Answer those questions. ABG, fractures..everything you taught. Yesss, finally I got selected. I appreciate your hard work for us. Thank you very much, mam. I bless you and your family for a healthy prosperous long live happy life with all your dreams come true. Thank you very much.

J remember to reassess. Upgrade or downgrade. Depends pre or in hospital I suppose and amount of healthcare providers available will always change some of this.
