My grandfather's house was way outside a very small village called Koda, about 1 and a half hours north of Kagoshima. The monkeys, rain, and green mountains brought back great memories. The meal you prepared with the soft white bread soaked in milk and eg is known here in Germany as "arme Ritter", which translates to "poor knights" and is said to be food of poor people in medieval times. We usually fry the soaked bread in an pan with some butter and then sprinkle a little bit of sugar and cinnamon over it.

Even with all the rain, it has a certain beauti with that castle. Thanks fore sharing.. Spent a lot of time up in deep woods Maine, camping with my friend. He has land there, way out in the woods. Spent lots of time there in the pouring rain, it started out beautiful sunny, and it turned dark and started to pour. We could have gone home, but it was so piecfull and relaxing.
