Footage @44:50 in the cab of a brand new Mac is great, was fun hearing what the Engineer had to say about them when they were new.

Awesome shots. Two pairs of green BN 72xx SD40-2s spliced by a fuel tender is just plain euphoria now, but i could imagine to the railfan in the mid-1980s, it was pretty tedious!

Oh! The memories! The hours I've spent myself watching these green machines and their little tender that could go up and down the hill pushing trains!

Interesting those BNs in the beginning had a tender...FEC here in Florida run with tenders on LNG

I remember years ago in the 80’s, Model Railroader had an article about kitbashing them. Really cool.

All the bn 94 and 9500 1st gen 70macs are gone now and many have been scrapped and parted out. Their windows computer systems were no longer available for updates, they lasted 20 years in the nose, just what they were designed for. The basic mechanics could've went far longer. Computer are a locos downfall now, builders figured out building dependable long lasting 30, 40 year lifespan locos wasn't profitable.
