About Simple Little Life:
This channel has sort of turned (inadvertently) into a knife making channel. But the original idea behind what we wanted it to be is this description below:
Videos on our journey to homesteading. With a recent purchase of a little piece of the Alberta prairie, we're looking to sell our nice suburban home in search of a more meaningful life beyond chasing the "American dream" working for some big company and making someone else rich. It's not about the money, it's about getting the most value from the work I do to improving the life of my family.
Some preparedness, DIY, building quality things with your hands, guns, gear, and outdoor exploration.

I don't know if you've already thought about it, but what works really well is to glue magnetic sheet to the aluminium disk and get some plate glass disks cut (just ever so slightly bevel the edges) and glue magnetic sheeting to them. Get a few plate glass disks cut. Then what you can go is have a set of disks, one for each grit you use. Changing the grits then is very quick and you only have to replace the sandpaper when its dead. It also means you can use normal spray adhesive, just get a paint scraper and scrape the disk clean when you change the paper. As an added advantage the centre is completely flat.

Prepping handle material and getting the right angles is my primary reason why I want one too. The 6" disk that I have does not have that accuracy as yours. That is why I try to stay away from making layered scales. And yes I would have no idea if you told me to bring you Marrettes. I would be looking for a pipe stretcher.

Kiku Matsuda grinds his compound-convex-whatever bevels by free hand on some sort of disc grinder, there are videos on YT. Though his disc looks more like a solid-piece abrasive stone instead of metal base with glued-on sandpaper. Anyway, looks like a very handy & capable tool.

CL stands for Current Limit. so this is normally the setting that let it stop when you put too much pressure on it. In this case if you jank down with a piece of someting and it is getting too hard for the dish to turn it can go into Current Limit. Not sure if it work with this setup though,

Cool let us know if the hp drop from the 1hp to 1/2 hp running on 110v makes a big difference on what you are using it for. I guess you won’t be leaning into it that hard, but some materials are more stubborn than others.

Hey mate can you please do a video on creating a beautiful knife from steel that is not perfectly flat when you get it from the factory. I’m pedantic about flatness and I wanted to hear your opinion on what parts of a knife need to be perfectly flat. I am starting my first knife and the steel is slightly warped so I’m trying to sand it perfectly flat but I’m wondering if this is all just a waste of time because I am thinking that the only section of the knife that needs to be perfectly flat is the handle so the scales don’t have any gaps with the steel. Can you show us what you do with your steel to process it to perfect flatness if that’s what you try to achieve

Reverse on the 2x72 vertical or horizontal IMHO should not be added. The small wheels bearings get used to going in one direction and can cause bearing issue when reversed. easy way to give it a try is flip your small wheel and see. I did this and caused bad vibration and all kinds of noise. Just my 2 cents...keep the videos going. I really look forward to seeing new ones.

Isn't 3 phase always 380 Volts? But you don't have 380 Volt stuff in your garages in canada or usa, do you? I've never seen it at least. In germany we have 230 V for everything and 380 V is 3 Phase. I'm just wondering, because you won't get a beefy drillpress for instance in germany that has only 230 Volts.
@Simplelittlelife
@Simplelittlelife 5 жыл бұрын
No, 3 phase can be different voltages. This FVD takes single phase (115V or 230V) and turns it into 3 phase. Slick as a whistle👍

@@kinnajppe_140 VFDs comes in all shapes and sizes. if you want one for a 3phase motor its best to get one with 3 phase in. A 3 phase motors use less power but you get a bigger effect. Its just that its not that common to have 3 phases in a normal househould over in america unlike in here in denmark where everyone got 3x400V + neutral goin into all houses.
