As we allow the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to mentor and prepare us, God opens doors of opportunities for us so we may exercise what we have been learning (present tense). Let us take these opportunities to exercise our faith! Sure we'll make mistakes or feel inadequate many times, but it's a learning process. We become bolder as we speak the Word of God. There is a saying that "the teacher learns more than the student". That's exactly what is happening here. We, the student is being matured as we minister (serve) others! Furthermore, our 'spiritual gifts', though we may still be in the process of discovery or development, are being SHARPENED for further works of ministry! So brother, let's go make disciples for Jesus!

One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples.” He said to them, “When you pray, say: “‘Father,[a] hallowed be your name, your kingdom come.[b] Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us.[c] And lead us not into temptation.[d]’” -Luke 11:1-4

rosemarie celdran , i hope this would help you. The Lord's Prayer should be understood as an example, a pattern, of how to pray. It gives us the "ingredients" that should go into prayer. Here is how it breaks down. "Our Father in heaven" is teaching us whom to address our prayers to"the Father. "Hallowed be your name" is telling us to worship God, and to praise Him for who He is. The phrase "your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven" is a reminder to us that we are to pray for God's plan in our lives and the world, not our own plan. We are to pray for God's will to be done, not for our desires. We are encouraged to ask God for the things we need in "give us today our daily bread." "Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors" reminds us to confess our sins to God and to turn from them, and also to forgive others as God has forgiven us. The conclusion of the Lord's Prayer, "And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one" is a plea for help in achieving victory over sin and a request for protection from the attacks of the devil. God bless!

rosemarie celdran the simple answer is “NO”. Matthew 6:7 And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. You see when we pray, we have to pray by heart and not like a machine programmed to say the same thing again and again. Read Matthew 6:5-15 for a good reference of how to pray.

1 Timothy 2:5 John 14:6 For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus. 1 Timothy 2:5 | NIV For this reason Christ is the mediator of a new covenant, that those who are called may receive the promised eternal inheritance-now that he has died as a ransom to set them free from the sins committed under the first covenant. Hebrews 9:15 | NIV Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 | NIV Jesus is the only mediator and Him alone. I was also a catholic but are now born again for more the 25 years.
