The Awe of God has been one of the best, most powerful, most edifying books I've read. I've recommended it to so many people, including our small group. Thank you John for your obedience in waiting for God's call and pouring your life message into this precious, timeless book. I pray our generation and the future ones to come would continue to grow in holy awe and fear of the Lord. He is truly worthy of everything!!!!!!!

You are soooo correct, John Bevere... sarcasm IS degrading... there is no love nor mercy, grace in sarcasm. Only degrading, which leaves a person bleeding in their soul.

Man! The women in our family are witty and sarcastic and it's always goofy loving.... Jesus was witty and there were times he was even sarcastic witty in discipline with his disciples. I believe God also has a witty sense of humor he does it in a loving manner in giving us grace to not be so hard and legalistic on ourselves.

Thank you for all your godly content and teachings you put out there, John. I esp love when you have conversations with your family, because that's often an indicator if someone practices what they preach (feedback from those who live with you). The Awe of God is def on my list of books to read. All that being said, I still disagree with spanking and don't believe in it, at least for myself. Just like how everyone has their own generational curses to break and personal sins they struggle with that don't apply to their neighbour, physical, emotional, and drug abuse runs in both my family and my husband's family. I grew up with a narcissistic father and bipolar mother, who used psychological manipulation and physical beatings as their main tools of discipline. That's been passed on to me where bipolar tendencies cause me to lose consciousness in anger/mania WHILE I beat a person/animal until I snap out of it and realise what's happened. So for me and my family, I don't even want to go there with the rod. Just like you wouldn't drink around something who's alcoholic. This is my chain to break, and I wish this generational sin ends with me. Pray for me, my family, and for godly wisdom. May God continue to bless you and your family.

It was a great example of His discipline and how I can discipline my children in a godly way. Blessings to you and your families.

What an extraordinarily beautiful woman Juli is. From every angle. Don't know why I write this now. Perhaps others in jealousy have made her feel insecure at part? Juli, you are extraordinarily beautiful from every angle the camera shoots you. It's nothing to be proud of, for it's a gift you were born with. It's nice nonetheless :) You are also beautiful on the inside and it shines through your eyes and demeanor. Now, that is an achievement, since we are all born to love sin and self above God. So thank you for the discipline, that you are disciplining yourself with to become beautiful on the inside as well. May God bless you and enrich you with even more wisdom. May the goodness and the kindness of God radiate through you to lift Many others up. Love, a sister in Christ.

13:52 I really love all of the wisdom & truth. I certainly don’t want you guys to have to caveat everything, but as an adoptive mom, it could be good to acknowledge some kids who come from trauma…spanking is not an option. But I love what I heard a pastor say that we can’t raise godly kids without the Holy Spirit. Keep all the truth coming! ❤❤❤❤❤

Also, read "Holy Spirit The Bondage Breaker" and "Carriers of His Glory" by David Diga Hernandes, and "When Heaven Invade the Earth" and "Hosting the Presence" by Bill Johnson!! I know it's many books, but it will powerfuly bless you!! P.S. I also recommend you to fast for your kid, Lisa Bevere's books like "Strong" and "It's Not How You Look But What You See" or something like that (this book talks about fasting as well If i'm not mistaken!), and there's also the 2 books she wrote with her husband John, "Pathway to His Presence" and "The Story of Marriage"!

Hey guys, your podcasts have been SUCH a blessing and has answered questions I've wrestled with for a long time. I have a question though! We don't allow our kids to watch movies with magic, unicorns and mermaids or listen to worldly music - not in a controlling way, just because we don't want to open any doors and if we allow one mermaid, they will want all of the mermaid things and some things are crazy our there! If we arrive at someone's house who has any of those things, one of our kids will sneakily go play with those things if they're in that person's house and that child will fixate on it. How do we create a healthy balance and stay firm in our conviction when those around are open to anything? And how can we encourage our kids to pursue holiness and not even desire those toys or movies etc? Would love to hear your thoughts!

I love a lot of what these podcasts have to say. I did personally decide not to spank my kids. Does this mean I do not discipline my kids…not at all, but I do think there are other ways in which to shepherd kids. I was spanked as a child and initially thought I would spank my kids. Then after I had mine, I began praying and doing more research leaning that the staff was used to guide and the rod to redirect. Learning the physiological impact of spanking and how it actually causes damage in the brain made me really think twice. Not spanking sometimes makes discipline harder as you have to be more thoughtful and creative as to what will work. I am curious your podcast into spanking as I really have a gut feel that it isn’t the right way for my family. I don’t think I am wrong in this nor do I think it is wrong if someone feels that is what the Lord has called them to do (to spank or not spank). I just think there is too much weight given to “the rod” in passages that are meant to talk about discipline as a way of guiding/teaching/redirecting….love how you mention this, but I also don’t think spanking has to be a part of the equation.

@nataleeleon77408 ай бұрын
I think it’s a difference between beating your child or hitting your child out of anger without the teachings of the Lord rather than doing it with intentionality if that makes sense? I didn’t believe in hitting my future kids but in a dyer situation where they weren’t learning I feel like I would hit them with a wooden spoon or something but not on the bottom as idk where that stemmed from I just always thought hitting on the bottom was weird but if my toddler was going to burn their hand to touch the stove n didn’t understand what a stove was I think I would gently hit their hand or hit it hard enough where they no it’s bad but not where they cry. Idk I’m not there yet. But I plan on disciplining out of love and keeping my cool or trying to for sure
