vuhdo is messed up right now, i cant share profile with anyone or receive them. not sure if its something on my end or if the patch that broke oq also broke this function. heres a temporary bandaid for it tho

back up your original files. and im not sure if u need both of those in that zip but someone confirmed they got the profiles working with those files so it will have to do for now.
i recently read the creator of vuhdo is stopping support for it and hasnt handed the project off to anyone else yet. what does this mean? vuhdo will be no more in wod, it will no longer get updates and will most likely cause tons of lua errors and performance issues if u decide to use it. i hate learning and setting up new addons so it was a sad day when i learned this. im currently in between setting up a new ui without vuhdo. im using elvui but it doesnt have click binds function on the raid frames. when i get around to setting up my healers ill post back here and let everyone know what i chose to use and possibly make a video about it.

Hey man, just wanted to say thanks for putting this out there. I leveled up as a disc priest, cause I find shadow boring. I've never run with a group though, so wasn't sure how I should handle the healing. This vid gave me the answers I was looking for, and then some. Thanks again and you got a new sub!

Hi Ez :) Thanks for the Vid, taught me alot. I've been a WoW player for a long time, but have only just recently tried a Disc Priest, always seemed a bit of a black art to me :P Thanks for the Macros, i'll get them in straight away. My only question is about Penance: Are you casting it on the Player (tank) or just casting it at the boss? And if its at the boss, does it still work as a heal for players near the boss? I cant quite figure it out, sry. James UK

hey james, i am casting penance at the boss as a dps spell. 90% of the dmg is translated into healing via atonement this way. atonement works as a 'smart heal' and just heals the the lowest health player thats in range. yes penance can be casted directly on a player also. casting it directly on a player will give them the 30% extra healing buff, so theoretically that would be more beneficial. my guide revolves around simplicity tho, and playing dis as a dps is as simple as it gets. if u have any more questions feel free to ask.

Hi EZ, just a quick comment to thank you for the Disc Priest vids. Made my boosted priest a beast on first LFR. Gave me plenty of time to perfect my healing without getting kicked. I was topping the charts immediately after watching vids and using your macros. I have started using standard healing techniques while still using enought atonement to keep my HPS up. What do you think about the alpha testing and the changes to Disc they have made? Do you think we are getting nerfed beyond recognition?

thx glad the vid helped u. its hard to say if the nerfs will cripple dis. just from the small amount of changes ive read about i can tell dis will require more effort in wod than it does now. Atonement now heals for 25% less than before. Halo and Divine Star now follow standard AoE capping rules. Atonement is no longer triggered by Penance. Penance now also refunds 1.1% of the Priest’s maximum mana each time it deals damage. just seeing these gets me thinking that atonement healing will be used as a filler during low dmg and to get evangelism stacks. cascade will possibly replace divine star on most fights. penance macro will need to be changed to /cast [target=targettarget] penance since it wont give healing via atonement anymore. this will be quick fix to always cast it on the tank or whoever has aggro

ty, dont forget part 2 and 3 for more information. this guide strictly revolves around atonement healing which should work fine until heroic modes. i also have an elemental shaman guide if youre interested in them. those 2 are my only 2 class guides atm. i feel as though i know a blood dk good enough to make a guide for it but havent been motivated to make one. with wod right around the corner i think the window of opportunity to do so has passed.

wow that is a really good macro if i can get it to work! i will give it one more go thanks. i recently changed to divine star hearing that its somewhat better, what are your thoughts on it?

ive added all the macros i use to the description. u or anyone else shouldnt have any issues getting them to work cuz now u can just copy paste and save. there is no magic talent that does it all. divine star and cascade both have their useful niches. u obviously cant efficiently use divine star on a fight like immersus where at most u have 2 out of 24 ppl in front of u. and likewise theres no need to use cascade on a fight like sha of pride where everyone is stacked. if i had to pick one thats better it would be cascade cuz it can heal stacked or spread out while divine star can only heal stacked. make sure u check out the other 2 parts of this guide it covers everything u need to know about healing as dis the rest of this xpac and specifically in siege of orgrimmar

Danny Alyea u cant click the macro, it has to be keybound. u have to have your mouse cursor over the target/name plate/raid frame etc. then hit the mouseover macro keybind.

Hey man, great video. However, you can click the macro if you include showtooltip at the beginning of the macro. IE: #showtooltip (yes include the #) /startattack /cast Holy Fire Instead of /startattack, I recommend /targetenemy [noharm][dead]. What this does is do the same auto-acquire that /startattack does, how ever, it does not start autoattacking...this is good if you have a wand equipped. With /startattack, a wand will often interrupt your cast. Happy hunting!

Seth Young that comment was to the guy trying to click a mouseover macro. which u cant do. u dont need showtooltip to click any macro thats just for cosmetic reasons if u want to see a tooltip when u mouseover the macro. very interesting about the wand. i tested this with a warlock and while i couldnt get it to literally interupt my cast i noticed it would sometimes cause a gcd and prevent casting. the only way i could see this effect was with shadowburn when i had no embers or on target higher than 20%. if i spammed it the wand it would cause a gcd and start 'wanding' if i timed a key press right as the wand casted it would like cancel the cast and ignore it. mashing the key obviously bypassed this everytime but its still odd. i put in a bug report about it, doubt it will ever be fixed its too small of an issue. good info thx for putting it here

so if you drag the macro down to your spellbar, you still have to click it? causing it to automatically focus an ally and use cascade?

the macros are meant to replace the normal versions of the spells on your spellbar. the cascade macro works so u dont have to target an ally. it bounces it off yourself without needing to deselect a hostile target.

thats vuhdo lol theres a link to a zip file containing my profile settings couple comments below if u sort by newest. basically install it like an addon, replace your old files, back them up. i still cant share profiles since last patch. i submitted a bug report to the creator, just waiting for the update.

the /startattack macro where its suppose to target someone for you can trigger the macro of the spell, does not work,,,i have it written exactly as you do too,,.

make sure youre dragging the macro down to the spellbar and saving it. there are limitations with it like 40+ yrd range and field of view. to test it be less than 40yrds away from a training dummy while facing it

moar spirit! check out part 2, the link is in the description. one of the first things i talk about is spirit u should aim for. around 10k without legendary dps meta and 15k with it. these numbers are for an lfr scenario where u assume your raid will not assist u with mana cds of any sort

I'am wondering how you get the Dropdown box in TellMeWhen? I've tried to setup the addon for several days :( . I can't just figure out! /tmw is the config mode then right click to edit an icon. but it will only show up like that pic where it says "choose icon to edit" if u have multiple icons overlapping each other. on the far right icon that im clicking i have 3 icons overlapped. u cant really see it in that pic or the vid cuz theyre almost pixel perfect. if u have it set like this u need to set the frame strata for at least 2. this tells which icon to be on top or bottom. ask if u have any more questions. its possible i might make a tellmewhen simple guide in the future. it wouldnt be complete cuz it has so many options some ive never used

nah, basically anything else u can do besides renew is worth more hps. u could create a hypothetical situation where a tank needs an external cd and spam healed then if timed right renew could be ticking leading into this time frame. besides all that, anyone only has to worry about this for a short time longer. coolline cooldowns. i stopped using it cuz it was causing a 5 fps loss when all of my other addons combined (50+) were only causing a 5 fps loss too. i dont know if its been updated since then but ive made a new ui without it. ill be making a video of my ui 2.0 soon, keep an eye out for it.
