The Herald spoke to several music industry insiders to see if the "issues" mentioned by Maclachlan could be holding up Lorde's second album, and the answer was definitely maybe.One said Maclachlan may be entitled to ongoing revenue, depending on the terms of the contract.Another source said most management contracts feature a sunset clause, which comes into effect when the relationship ends. Generally, this clause only covers content created while the contract is in place. However, they stressed that every management contract is different. One source mooted that Lorde could be biding her time waiting for such a clause to expire or possibly to reduce the amount that Maclachlan could claim, while another said some contracts can allow for ongoing payments up to three, five or even 10 years after the contract is dissolved. Lorde has spoken sporadically about the album, telling the BBC in October the follow-up would be influenced by the success of Pure Heroine.

I have so much respect for this girl as an artist. Her lyrics are almost as powerful and unique as her voice. Her songs sound way mature for her age. At her age, you expect most songwriters to be writing about some cute guy's blue eyes or getting your heart broken and all that mainstream bs but her songs reflect so much more than that. I love her attitude and her confidence. She's that person you can't ignore when she walks into a room because she screams attention but at the same time she's also so relatable with her music. Setting that aside, i see so many people comparing her moves to seizures and I will admit that at first I thought she was nuts too. But now every time I look at a video of her signing I expect some of those moves because I've come to realize that she really feels her music when she sings, she moves according to the beat and let's the song take over the course of her body. I think they're some sick moves. They're different, she's different. Different is cool.
