It was the glorious decade when “OPM” or Original Pilipino Music enjoyed unprecendented success in the local music industry. It was when the Filipino recording artists outsold their foreign counterparts and dominated the charts. The latter part of the 70’s saw the birth of a new kind of OPM sound which was Bee Gees’ Saturday Night Fever-inspired. At the forefront of these OPM dance genres were the VST & Company, Wadab, Labuyo and Hotdog, among others.
After more than three decades and with the resurgence of revival music, some of the original band members decided to regroup and formed the 70’s Superband to bring back the timeless OPM classics of the 70’s.
